Not entirely true - a corp owns the POCO (Player Owned Customs Office) of a planet, and it basically means you rule what's being shipped on and off that planed in form of Planetary Interaction items.
Initially, I bet this will be what DUST will help EVE-players in accumulating.
Then again, I don't really have any idea what it will be like. |

Yeahh, forgot to mention that. but it's not realy "owning" or ruling over it. You do collect taxes from the POCO, but that is only based on what people are taking off the planet.
Also, this method will change with DUST, we'll have surface infrustructure and EVE will have orbital infrustructure.
Shipments will be to and from the Space Elevators, you know this thing |
