Aurua was a former gallente super star singer until the amarrian assasins tried to kill her, the poison used however made her unable to sing, and she forgo clone tech and went cybentic on the voice box replacment, thus her current AI Voice. AIs in eve are... dont think lik ehumans do. They're intelligent enough to come up with solutions but do not think like people do in terms of conversation and reasoning. An AI attack drone for example is more like an antwolf than a computerized person.
Aurua ai is standardized ship AI named after the gallente singer's voice used to vocalize the software, for most intents its just a subconcious reminder to the pilots of certain issues in captaining command conflicts.
As for the battle AI I am not even sure if its Aurua it doesnt sound like her at all. Also I am fully in support of revoicing the current battle AI to somone more... down to ground pounding earth so to say. Maybe a differnt name needed like Terra or something.
Also i think John 514 was already taken as a name by a player and in terms of tech we're better than spartans, spartans you only have to kill once, dust soldiers are immortal. |

Lol riding around in the warthog....ehrm I mean onikuma made me get halo reminiscent.
Just kidding with the halo comparison, but that's interesting about Aura. The AI's is not as social as cortana, they are more task oriented. I like the idea that they have kept the basic AI, simple and more rudimentary. When an AI has the ability to self develop it stands the chance of becoming corrupt. So while it may not be able to develop humor it remains more efficient at commanding the ship.I was reading the Rogue Drones have a more complex AI interfaces, and this is the reason for them going rogue. When they become sentient it leads to them becoming corrupt and rebelling against their creators. So it makes sense they keep the AI more simple for the sake of the capsuleers. You wouldn't want an AI suddenly going corrupt and deciding it is a good idea to betray it's pilot or allegiance, because it has a misplaced sense of morality.
I'm liking the Eve universe, it is an eclectic blend of all the major sci-fi influences out their with it's own unique elements.
Honestly I'm hoping for a visor aesthetic on the commander armor. I just like how it looks really. Gives it that authority look. almost a face if you will.
Spartans never die...least that's what they said till orbital bombardments wiped out reach
I don't know if Clones are superior to Spartans. Spartans can do atmospheric drops similar to a clone so I'm assuming their tech would be on par.

Spartans never die...least that's what they said till orbital bombardments wiped out reach I don't know if Clones are superior to Spartans. Spartans can do atmospheric drops similar to a clone so I'm assuming their tech would be on par. Read Templar One. Merc tech is significantly more powerful than the spartan armors and series. Those guns master chief picks up? Can generally be shot by anyone. The guns your merc carries? Will maim and generally kill the anyone without the armor and shielding and strength augmentations and powered armor you wear. You could just fire the shotgun within five feet of the chief, and blow his shields and most his armor away, or all of it. Hit him with the shotgun? Well, no more master chief. Your merc? Wake up ready for revenge.
Your merc is stronger, faster, more resilient and more adaptable than master-chief. Your body is full of nanomachines, rendering poisons useless and removing foreign agents. In fact, your merc could easily beat the precursors, the flood, reach. You could probably sit in front of the scarab with a heavy and take all of it's attacks and blap it with a single forge gun blast.
Don't get me started on starship tech vrs other canons. EVE Vrs star trek? A single rifter would be enough for almost everything encountered. Star Wars? Smartbombs take care of all those annoying shieldless armorless fighters. They might as well not even be there. Deathstar? EVE rolls with doomsday devices. Blap the deathstar in a single shot.
New Eden technology is OP compared to most other similar genre single player games due to narrative and plot advancement. They need to give you a challenge you can believe, in New Eden, it's other demi-gods like yourself. (Merc or Pilot). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNyfI4dv1dg |

I'm pretty sure a clone merc can kick a Spartans butt any day. If you read the books you learn that John 117 isn't even the best at anything he is just lucky, that's part of the reason cortona picked him. Mercs aren't lucky we are immortal! |

Some would go as far as calling immortalty a curse, but do know that if you do manage to kill a merc clone you only accomplished one thing, pissing him off.
As far as tech goes I have to say forerunners are pertty damn close to our current tech level, caldari ships are powered by blackholes which for all intents is a much more massive technical feat than having a star botteled up (oh wait the gallente do that) and feeding off of that. Construction wise is hard to tell but anything the UNSC or conventant builds are inferior eve online tech has gotten to the point that they're making ships extremly structurally sound by using as few parts as possible, nanite construction, improved lattciing methoods and whole slews of methods for resisting damage. Even after the shields and armor been stripped away. Repairs are still possible and easily perofrmed without much crew assistance.
But thats eve online current civilization tech, the evidence keeps pointing that earlier civilizations in new eden where far more advanced. Terrans having the most frieghtening tech of them all. |

Eve is set over 21000 years into the future. Spartans were only 500 years into the future.

Isn't covenant weaponry about the same though? Accelerated plasma particles and what not?
Spartans are resourceful, their mortality is a resource. They would attempt to blow the clone reserves. I'm sure they wouldn't want to openly confront Immortals. A soldier with no fear of death would fight more erratically. Almost a kamikaze style of combat.
If a clone and a spartan met i think the spartan would rip them because the spartan would have that desperation of knowing he is not going to respawn.
Now if it is a squad of spartans and clones. Clones will take the victory on the open field. You can't effectively fight against a clone army. It will be Terminators that have the resourcefulness of a human mind.
A weakness though clones are only effective as their clone reserve units. Hack that and no return, Also maybe their can be a remote access to these clone reserves.
Imagine if a skilled rebel decided to exploit a bug in the cloning process and duplicate him self so he can have an army of like minded psychos to start a hostile take over. The coordination between yourself and your clone would be superb. No need to train or direct them. I imagine they have remote access protocols to shut down disobedient clones. Immortality comes with a leash.
John is a crack head he'd probably just interface him self with the cloning technology. That or ONI would steal it anyways.
EMP's would be a problem for both sets also.
I'll definitely check out templar one. The cannon sounds quite intresting.

Conciousness in eve is a measurable thing, it cannot be copied and there can be only one instance of a person in existence in eve, so clones cannot be multiplie just imprinted with a new conciousness. |
