As long as its not a 1HK weapon and you have to put it in a slot to use it seems quite fair. Sounds like you guys just don't want to get stabbed with a sword which is not a good reason.

Because we need a melee weapon that overheats if you use it for too long. It'd need to be polished up a bit. I don't even think a Minmatar would use something that rusty & unfinished.

Nova Short Sword Sidearm slot Hits consume 'charge' Damage proportional to charge (successive hits become less powerful) Slow recharge rate Reasonably fast attack rate Should be able to 2~3 hit lightly protected targets in the first hits when fully charged. Will not win any gun fights without surprise.
