You should not get points for someone in the vehicle killing someone unless you have done it or them some damage. Except maybe the driver just because I'm riding and somebody on the other guns kills someone or something how should you get points for nothing |

Getting rid of it discourages single-vehicle teamwork, and instead to field additional vehicles and just use them by yourself, ESPECIALLY when the gunner turrets have limited ranges of motion.
Removing assist points for gunners is a horrible idea. |

You think providing transport, keeping vis on objectives, feeding the gunners kills, distracting the enemy team, capturing unattended spawns and objectives is nothing?

Some help by leading a target to where the other gunner can kill them... But not sure how to justify the gunless sears getting assists, but then again hopefully soon passenger seats will allow u to use ur main gun |

I think the Pilot/Driver should get a Pilot Assist for any kill earned by their Gunners, worth the same as a normal Assist, and a lower-scoring "Pilot Support" bonus when a gunner gets an Assist. Gunners should only get their own kills, and Assists on kills where they dealt damage to the target.
Gunners don't need to get points for one another's kills, unless they actually helped. |

Gunners don't need to get points for one another's kills, unless they actually helped. Again, this ignores the fact and importance of suppressive fire, herding your targets, and the fact that the range of motion doesn't always let you get in on the action.
The points are fine as-is, encourage teamwork and filling in those seats, and are not detrimental to anyone. It should be left alone.
As to the passenger seats in the dropships, I agree with Chao Wolf. It's silly at the moment, but we should (statement of my opinion, not speculation of what we'll get) get the passengers being able to fire their main weapons out of the door, that's just common sense (and might actually let us see WTF is going on around the ship; as it stands, trying to make a tactical drop is all but impossible since you can't see your surroundings and the lack of teaming or use of voice comms). |

While passengers are in the dropship, they aren't earning any points. This isn't some kind of exploit people are abusing to get 'free' points.
If players are willing to hop on board, they should be rewarded for it. They are taking a risk and putting their lives in the hands of the pilot and gunners. |

Why doesn't someone try this first. Just as a test. If all works out. Then need the points.

In one game I had a full dropship and no one would get out. I landed in some great spots so they could hop out and flank the enemy team. Not one of them would get out so I went up really high thinking they might want to skydive out..No one got out Landed right in the middle of the hostiles a few times and still no one got out.
So would like to say sorry to the gunners , you were doing a fine job.
Sorry you had to die in the unsafe zone with your noob team mates.
From now on if my passengers (not gunners) wont get out and take the unguarded objectives then my Eyrex or wut ever its called is flying off into the sunset where we can all burn for your fail.
Lolz end rant/
Remove points for passengers.
Edit: Removing gunner assits for gunners is dumb tho |

After spending a lot of time today playing gunner (and passenger) in Dropships and Tanks, I think I need to apologise.
You're right, I was wrong.
And I've got to the point where I can, to an extent, use the minimap and my limited view of the battlefield from the Dropship to mostly figure out the right time to jump. Agreed that better visibility and preferably the option of shooting would be nice though. |

This man raises a good point. Those SP are not going to give them any form of advantage in that battle. What do you have to gain by implementing this change, and what do you have to lose if it stays ?
* I do agree with removing points for passengers though. |

Deserve nothing As was mentioned in response to my similar comment (which I've since retracted), the passengers shouldn't get anything, but the gunner(s) in a vehicle ARE instrumental in getting some kills for other players, by acting as area denial, forcing enemies to move into another weapon's line of fire, sometimes without even hitting them.
EVERY gunner contributes to a vehicle's battlefield presence, and to the effect it has on enemy behaviour. More gunners mean more firepower, which in turn makes your vehicle both a higher-priority target and a more dangerous threat. |

Do nothing = get nothing You DIDN'T do nothing though.
You covered the rear approach and made sure nobody came from that direction. Had you walked off, someone could easily have shown up with forge guns from the unprotected direction. Because of your presence, any enemies who MIGHT have tried would have been chased off.
Do you know that your "friend" parked reversed specifically to avoid you getting kills, or is it possible they were using you to form a rearguard just in case someone on the opposing team found a way around? |
