I have made other comments here, but I wanted to make some final comments before I logged off tonight.
I am still not sold on Dust 514 as a viable game for me. A lot needs to be done here based on just getting this product ready for release... much less nice to have items. I am hoping that there will be a priority for allowing Players to use the keyboard and mouse, and to make the PS3 Controller functions map to the keyboard and mouse as well. This will make things a lot easier for PC Players to move over to the PS3, imo... which include the Eve Online Players who may wish to get involved in Dust 514. The PS3 Controller may be a killer for me... sorry. The Eagle Eye just has too many interface problems with the PS3/Dust 514 for that to be a substitute for the PS3 Controller for me at this time. What I do not think will be a good marketing thing is for Players not familiar with the PS3 Controller to try Dust 514 once, be unsuccessful, and say 'screw this crap, I am going back to the PC'. The block for many coming to Dust 514 should not be the PS3 interface... not a good thing money wise.
Being an Eve Online Player for years and a CoD/BF Player as well, I was really looking forward to Dust 514. I even bought a PS3 and a new monitor just to play the damn game. However, I am a bit disappointed in what I have seen so far and just hope things will get better before release... and I have not wasted my time and money.
Most of my issues are not with Dust 514 itself... I really have not experienced enough of the game to make enough of a call there. Where I am have issues is the PS3 interface with Dust 514. I cannot aim well at all, thus I got owned pretty much the whole time I was here... which does not happen in other FPS's. The only time I seemed to do well at all is when I was in a turret or vehicle... then I did much better. However, I could not figure out how to spawn my own vehicle, so I could not try one for myself... I had to tag along with someone else's.
I have not totally given up on Dust 514. I will be here for the next Beta Weekend. However, I did not have a good experience on my first run here. Perhaps if I found a group to run with, things might be better... and being able to use the Dust 514 interface effectively... especially the ability to aim in the scope mode [Eagle Eye issue]. I am more of a long distance camper than a run-and-gunner. Oh well... we will see.
I wish All well and good hunting!

Maybe you should look at the controller diagram that pops up during loading screens, then. It clearly shows that the "summon vehicle" button is the right-arrow on the d-pad. I personally found this fact out within ten seconds just by prodding buttons on the controller and seeing which did what. |

I saw that as well. However, when I went to where the crosshairs were to drop the vehicle [I am assuming that was the next step], I could not get the crosshairs to lock and ended having to opt out of the function. When I pressed 'X', it would show two bars above the crosshairs, but that was as far as I could get. I am sure it is something stupid I am doing or not doing... just had difficulty with it.

Crosshairs? no. You press right on the d-pad, it opens a menu, you select the vehicle you want, the vehicle gets flown to your location. It really is that simple. |

I will give it another go and will see... but I pressed the right arrow key [Vehicles] and did not see any vehicle selection screen... just crosshairs. |

np... as I said, it is my issue, I am sure. You know us older folks... just have no common sense at all. I was also getting frustrated with the game interface, so that was a factor as well, I am sure. I may have screwed up the Eage Eye as well... who knows? |

They have confirmed in the next major build they are adding Keyboard Mouse functionality to the game. There is a big heated debate over it now. People with controllers are afraid that the KbM people will have an unfair advantage. It is in the General Tab if you wish to read or give your two cents on it... wait here is a link...

Crosshairs? Are you seeing an overview of the map? That should be down on the d-pad.. |

lot of your problems are from you not being able to get used to the controller, and dont worry they are adding mouse support, i just hope they balance the two controll methods fairly.
p.s. dont mention kb/m ever agian on any post unless you want a big argument over the two control methods |
