I think most people might of had the situation where they have called in a vehicle which was useful at one time but once they have captured a point or did what ever needed to be done or if there in a position where advancing any further the vehicle will be lost. we are given the chance to use resupply points to change drop suits and gear so we can choose to put our expensive gear away if needed so why not vehicles.
so my idea is the ability to request a vehicle extraction in same way you request a drop but you must be in the vehicle stationary (maybe in a secure position) when done as long as your vehicle remains still a ship will come and pick up the vehicle immediately chucking you out when it begins it pickup. If the vehicle returns to the original owners hanger unless you have hacked an enemy vehicle at which the vehicle returns to your hanger.
this giving the possibility of stealing enemy vehicles and another way to make profit.
another way to extract the vehicle could be by a module that can be placed on the battlefield similar to the resupply point and when a vehicle is empty and within the area it is recalled back to base.
What say you people, are you tired of loosing your nice shiny tank just because you have no way of sending it back home and have to send it in to fight. |

I agree. You should be able to call in an RDV to extract your vehicles.
You should have to be outside the vehicle when you call it in, and if anyone jumps into it, or moves it, the extract is aborted. Also, the vehicle remains vulnerable to damage as does the RDV.
Taking hacked vehicles and extracting them should allow you to steal them.

You know, this feature wouldn't be needed in other games of this type, but since this is an asset ownership game... I totally AGREE with you. If it worked like hacking, you could quick hack an abonddoned friendly vehicle to request extraction. PLUS for it to work you'd have to be in a certian kind of area, or the pickup team would say it's an invalid location for picup.and the equipment ship would come in for a pickup. That would be awesome, because I HATE leaving the vehicles I actually pay a lot of isk for, but sometimes I get to where I don't want to be using them anymore. They serve their purpose, andn they weren't invincible while doing it, and its time to get them off the field. Of course, once you set it up for extraction, I would say it would have to be locked up to everyone prevent your own milita mates from stealing it! But it would still be vunerable to attack or enemy hacking while waiting for pickup.
PS: of course, since it's an asset ownership game, I think the driver seat should be unavailable others trying to use the vehicle, if they want to be a passenger, or gunner fine. But, I'm constantly hearing of people getting their **** stolen (I usually take precautions when ordering a nice vehicle to guard against that, but, it would also prevent issues like I had today in an lav sniping an installation, some ally got into it, drove me to an enemy cru, and parked just infront of a heavy with a forge guns line of fire... As an experienced driver of LAV's I can tell you, THIS IS NOT one of the things you do when you see a HEAVY. Option 1 is try to run him over, not a great idea in the current build, Option 2 is to keep moving while the gunner takes popshots at him with a missile luancher.... if you slow down enough for a forge gun to get a real bid on you, you're dead, simple as that. In fact, everytime someone has driven something I've ordered, customized to my driving style, it has resulted in my pretty immediate death... So, I'm not a big fan of everyone having equal access to the driver seat. If they want one, they can order one. |

stealing vehicles, in this way, would be fun. Of course, I don't think all this function should be for the milita stuff everyone has access to... just the pay per unit vehicles. the milita models should be FFA, and left on the field, since they are cheap replications of a modest blueprint with little value. |
