TabbieKat wrote:Well I really do not know how it would be abused, there is no sex appeal to the armor. i mean it is not like an MMORPG were you have Female characters in bikinis killing giant dragons and taking almost no damage.....
OMG can you image a chick in a bikini taking out a Sagaris solo :D
I just want the armor to be logical to humans, a Female soldier on the battle field for the most part looks like a Male soldier when they are both in the same gear.
Forgive me then while I continue to ogle Scout's finely molded buttocks, broad shoulders, corset like lacing, and suggestive "lower back" "port". Now if only he wasn't so shy even in the privacy of his quarters that I might gawk at that shapely cod piece... Oh m'yes, that IS a lovely rifle you have there... *twirls mustache titillatingly*
*cough* On topic, I agree that the gender dimorphism of the clones should be downplayed for more of a mass produced functional and somewhat androgynous look; though I'm nearly certain that CCP already has a good sense about this sort of thing. But for the record, I personally find it borderline offensive when I am forced to endure the perpetuation of the social notion, even in my futuristic fantasy, that a woman is no good in a game unless she has perfect skin and hair, a petite, shapely (and shamelessly flaunted (I'M LOOKING AT YOU BUTT-SHOT IN 'A FUTURE VISION'!) body, and overall needs unnecessary feminine distinction for validation to the fact that she is indeed a woman. Not to mention the passive stigma of media products against athletic women, because apparently being tall and athletic just isn't pretty if it means having a less feminine fat distribution and actually possessing significant muscular strength that is relative to being realistically effective in an action and adventure setting!
And when not done for such reasons, I don't even want to get started with how I definitely do find it offensive when such things are perpetuated for the producer's desire to include it for sake of male-oriented sex appeal. Shoving it in their faces because obviously this is what they all want to see as base-minded creatures driven solely by sexual desire, alienating women or those otherwise unentertained by such visuals.
At any rate, in this setting, given the function of mercenaries it wouldn't make sense to have big busty ladykind with the huge swaying hips, lusciously plump hindquarters, then the tiny shoulders and waists, unless we want to go very realistic here and include a lowered sprint, stamina/recovery, and melee attack which frankly would not feel right to me. Of course, if it were to vary between races what males and females were like given their social ideologies and evolutionary differences that would be quite interesting and potentially very tasteful; if spawning unnecessary model additions.
Or the issue could be side-stepped altogether by using optimized uniform combat enhanced clones, and the character being however they choose to be in the respite of their down time, which seems the most sensible option to me. |

Hellhammer Tactical wrote:guys while your checking out her chest she is filling you with lead.
personaly i think its like arguing that a Male dropsuit should have a larger codpiece... compleatly unnecessary!!!
maybe change the avatar system to something like EVE, you have a fully customisable avatar that you see when in your quaters, if you really wanted to show off you could make it so this avatar is the one seen in the prematch war room.
Well you see, codpieces make the armor more aerodynamic, sort of like with a logistics unicorn, that's why the Scout has the most prominent one and runs the fastest.
This is obviously a scientific fact.
And I agree with HellHammer, why should clones have a gender at all? Like I said before, it only makes sense that there would be a generic battle optimized clone body. It's not like having sexual organs or personal features is going to be useful on a battlefield so why would they be included in clone production? I suspect they might even be stripped down to exclude a proper digestive system as well, and instead are flooded with nutrient rich substances ready for the body to use, made by the Quafe corporation, right into the blood stream.
It's better if people use these clone bodies, but have more specialized and detailed clones of their actual selves for use outside of battle. Saves everybody trouble from having to work up a whole extra set of models for combat, meaning a shorter beta, and overall coming off as progressively tasteful and futuristic. At least in my opinion. |

Well they'd be clones and their consciousness would perpetuate, which in a sense makes this one of the least violent games you can play that involve guns.
Also, do you like the idea of killing men in general? I mean, assuming all human/sentient life is of an equal value... |

TabbieKat wrote:Mobius Wyvern wrote: I'm curious; where did they say that they were adding female player models?
when you make your character there is a male or female option so there you go no need for anyone to say there will be or there will not be. it is fact and it will be added, i just want them added logically and not used as a sex symbol. if you want to have a sex symbol go play an MMORPG as for your comments about the **** pieces on the male suits La Gris Feu, they are not helpful to the conversation and either show a lack of compassion or a lack of understanding. who cares how old you are, at least i am trying to contribute to the conversation and not troll, if that is all you are going to do go back to WoW where you belong.
I express my uncertainty of the intent and seriousness of your statement. A little humour is good for the soul mon ami, and I have only made as much, a little. And is cod a filtered word? "Cod".
...Well I guess I will find out shortly.
On topic, it'd just be nice to find some means of official declaration of intent on this matter, to satisfy curiosity. Obviously it isn't a super big deal, but it is something I've begrudgingly endured enough times in other games to at least say something about in face of uncertainty. Of course my face when CCP is all classy about it and this thread was pointless (of course the same applies to most every other thread potentially, I wish I knew more about their intentions).
And then again, I guess I will find out shortly. |

Lol no worries, it's a sensitive subject. And on Internet forums it's harder to gauge how people mean things, so it's only natural to assume the worst right? Especially when it's something you care about and you feel like you need to be on a defensive footing. It happens to everybody at some point I should think. |
