Tanks may need some adjustments, but if they are going to cost 1.5 mil each, take forever to train for, it needs to be a killing machine, not something 1 or 2 people can easily take out.
Lets take your first point. Us being 'cry babies' and being 'unable to get together as a group to take one down'.
Case in point against this statement. A match i was in a few moments ago that made me finally say 'ok they need a nerf bad'. 2, not 3, not 4, not 8, TWO tanks on the attacking team swept threw the map, both fully maned, all 3 weapons MISSILES. What did these 2 tanks do? they destroyed every single gun emplacement, every single spawn, and every single supply station. Our ENTIRE TEAM were hitting them with swarm launchers, and doing 0 damage. Those two tanks NEVER died. What happened? we ended up getting forced to spawn at the 'default' spawn point for the defenders (because every other spawn point had simply been destroyed). And from that point we just got spawn-camped by 2 tanks firing 6 missiles at us over and over and over again. 1 missile from ANY of the tank turrets kills you if it hits directly, takes 2 'close calls' to kill you. How many swarm missiles does it take to kill one of those tanks? I honestly couldnt tell you, i know i emptied ALL of my swarm launcher ammo into 1 of those tank (with all 4 missiles hitting from each fire) + saw swarm missiles from OTHERS hitting the same tank. It never dropped.
So no, no amount of teamwork can kill the current "missile-tanks'. The damage those missiles do vs EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE GAME is about 5x more than any other weapon in the game can do vs the tank itself.
Now, for your second point.
Yes tanks need adjustments. Im not 100% sure if its the 'tank' that needs adjusting or if its the WEAPON's they use. Nearly every battle ive been in today, including the one were the defenders were flat out pushed aside as if we didnt even try to fight (though believe me we did, only NOTHING WE DID made any difference), the team who managed to get 2+ fully manned MISSILE tanks ended up being the one to win. I actualy managed to get into a tank of my own at one point, only to have it 100% obliterated (even with a armor repper running) in 1 single volly from one of those 'missile-tanks'.
Skirmish is almost 100% worthless to play right now. Especially if the other team starts fielding the "Missile-Tanks" as theirs absolutely no way to kill them unless your team has one as well. Nothing 'hand-held' does enough damage to kill the tank befor all 3 of its turrets fire a missile at you and 1-shot you no-mater what your in, be it on foot, or in another vehicle yourself.
Tanks need a major overhaul right now, though as i said, i think it has more to do with the power of the Missile launcher on the tank than it does with the tanks themselves. But until their fixed, there's almost no point in playing skirmish. |
