Longshot here.
My first FPS was Jet Force Gemini, before that I would play Goldeneye at my cousin's (and by play I mean run around in circles while he used me for target practice), since I've played a bit of Halo with friends after work a few years ago. I was one of the shell-shocked starcraft players who were dissapointed by Blizzard's failure to produce Starcraft Ghost.
Dust 514 is the first shooter that's really grabbed my interest and I'll have logged more hours in on the Beta than I've put into the others combined by the time we hit release. |

Royal for short.
Started playing video games young age. Played alot of different games growing up, then got into work and school and cut it down to just a couple games, which was mostly MAG, and some random games that couldn't stop the addiction to the massive game and community it lead me to. Thats up to a year ago.
During MAG days I had joined a corp, D3ath D3alers, that has survived since MAG's beginning.
Heard about Dust 514 and how it'd be connected to this internet spaceship game that's had all these crazy stories and had this large alliance everyones heard about. So few of us got into the universe shortly after. To see what this game would be going into.
So far it was pretty good. Wasn't ganked till 8 months into playing EVE. I've grown into the community, started to see how bad the EVE forums were and never looked back, tweetfleet is nice place though :P lol.
Watched and payed for fanfest hd in 2012, have watched every presentation over 3 times each since (addict? yes)
After a while, D3ath D3alers had helped create the alliance RISE of LEGION
Which now I am an Alliance Recruitment Officer.
Stories created by dev's always could be good, but the lore of EVE and then the players actually create the story you play in, has been great to witness and create for myself.
And a thank you for CCP, for being CCP. No other company is pushing gaming this far. Can't wait to create the next stories. :) |

[edit] Since people are including this now, my first FPS was Wolfenstein 3D and my first MMO was PSO. |

Just me.
First FPS was doom when I was like 3 years old. Have been playing mostly single player FPS games ever since, the most recent being Deus Ex: Human Revolution
So I'm not to used to the online multiplayer stuff yet, but I like the idea of working as a team and taking objectives and filling roles and upgrading skills. |

Used to play COD on the pc years ago then moved to EVE for a while. Loved EVE but soon realized I didnt have the time to play. Tis why i've stuck with my ps3 and played games like elders scroll and fallout. They both take up alot of time but atleast they didint consume me like EVE did!
Im really excited about DUST as it will allow me to be part of eve again... Without the misses getting too annoyed with me :) |

Sandromin here?
Well, I started gaming about a decade ago, when I got Kirby for the Gameboy Advanced. That was when I was youngish. Then afterwards, I became a fan of Pokemon (no hate, k? :P). At around this time, I got Medal of Honor for the Gamecube and it was fairly decent, but at the time, didn't strike my fancy. I sorta delved into MMOs about a year after this, and got a small glimpse into clans and the like at this time, but truly didn't care for it. Then, I played a few games, going back and forth in the gaming world, trying to find that perfect game, but I just couldn't find it. About 2 years ago, I found AvA and it was a great game. This was when I started getting involved in clans, but alas, I felt that most clans were filled with either idiots or tryhards, so I felt there was a large void. I felt there was something more the world had to offer, and thus I began a search. I again, went back and forth, and couldn't find a game. This was about when I bought my PS3. I played Uncharted 3, and a few others, including Just Cause 2 (which is amazing btw), but felt there wasn't the game I wanted at the time. Then, just recently (a year maybe?), I picked up news of DUST 514. Well, I'd heard of EVE but didn't really want to pay monthly, so I didn't really bother. So when I saw DUST, I felt there was an opportunity. As time went by, my enthusiasm went up, and I feel that DUST has the potential to be a console-changer. And here I am. That's really about it as far as I'm concerned.
So, nice meeting you, love these forums, and time to sleep, its rather late. |

Same as username, 16, male, UK. First was on PC with original Age of Empires. Played with friend on N64 playing games like OoT etc. Got PS2 at release and been playing it for ages. Fav games were Koei games (talked with community manager about having homo sex in a sauna), Jak & Daxter, Armored Core, Black (brilliant game) and the Star was Battlefront series (Main reason why I like Dust so much). Got PS3 last year and played MAG (got bored), Warriors Orochi 3, Armored Core V and BF3 (close to semi-pro level). As well as the odd Darksiders for utter brutality I think I mostly feel happy about Dust because of it resembling SW Battlefront from my early years which was at one point my favourite game. I see big things for it. I never have played EVE but played the hell of X2, whole huge fleet and everything |

Thirty-mumble Gen-Xer. Used to play NES at my buddies 'cause we were too poor to afford one. Mostly PC after I joined the Army years ago and had disposable income. First PC game was Mechwarrior II. Played the whole franchise. First shooter, DOOM. Have not been heavy into FPS since the days of the Pentium 133. Did not buy a PS2 till the PS3 came out. Didn't get a PS3 till this last year. Didn't play online console till BF3 came out and it shows. Console controllers are not user friendly to me. Diablo (original) ate alot of evenings. Worms on Dreamcast ate alot of time too. Switched over to MMO's back in the Everquest days. Fell into EVE after I realized that I could never get my killed brain cells and two months back I had wasted playing WoW. Hooked up with my current corp and never looked back. Corpmates and I also play LoL & WoT. Corp members also are heavy into what ever the flavor of the month is on Steam, Tribes Ascend, & Dayz Mod Arma II but I don't have the computer to push much and not alot of spare cash to upgrade.
Wife likes driving/racing games. Thus, I have played more of the Burnout series than I like to admit. |

Been gaming since the NES days (Contra, Battletoads, Megaman 2 WHAT UP!?!). Skipped the Genesis/SNES generation though and jumped right into the N64 and PS1. First FPS was Goldeneye (since people say Duck Hunt doesn't count....). I didn't really get into PC gaming until a few years back with WoW. Was in a guild on Tichondrius before guild mates got bored. Tried joining another guild but they made it a full time job....
As far as FPS go, I played a lot of Halo until my sister got my hooked on CoD for a bit. Recently picked up BF3 and played a bit of Tribes: Ascend, but haven't really put much time into them due to not having enough people to play with (I'm of the belief that gaming with a bunch of random people is only fun if you got someone else to talk to and joke around with).
Been having a great time with Dust and the group of people I'm now playing with. Prolly gonna pick up EVE in the next few months and give it a try.
Nice meeting ya'll and see you on the battlefield! |

Alright... so I dont feel like continuing the list of how many different games I've done the same thing in. But at least you'll know what to expect from me now if you happen to be in the same room lol. I also used to snipe when i needed a break from flying amd blowing stuff up.. hunting people in virtual reality is actually very entertaining and just about as fulfilling as tossing that nade into a room with 4 people. |

I like this thread! Been playing games for 14 years, started out with Pokemon on Gameboy.
I quested to catch em' all until I got an XBOX. Halo was my first FPS, funny because I a started and am finishing playing FPS's with two similar games. Over the years I played many different games on Handhelds, XBOX, XBOX 360, PC, and now PS3. I quit playing console games in 2009, and started playing RTS games on the PC(Total War games and mods, Empire at war, and Age of Empires, Warcraft). In 2010, I found about a game called MAG, and with my birthday money, bought me a PS3 just for it.
During my first hour of MAG, I couldent believe I wasted almost $350 just for MAG. I eventually fell in love with this game that I put 1200 hours into. I played with many different clans in MAG and had the most fun I've ever had in video games.
When I found out that everybody from MAG was migrating to this new, awesome game Dust, I immediately jumped on the bandwagon, became infected, and now am trying to make the best of the last game I will ever play. |

Been hooked on video games since 1985. I remember thinking that 2000 was the highest score you could get on the flagpole at the end of each level. I remember celebrating when my sister got 5000! We were like "NO WAY!!!"
Good times... been a console freak ever since. I own everything from ATARI to PS3, excluding a Sega Saturn and a Virtual Boy. Started PC games in 2000-2001. Started EVE just 5 months ago. Had no idea the complexity of the game. That ended up being what I liked most... the details. The final DUST product is gonna be AWESOME! |

i started with Galaga in 1981.. i can still get to level 24
then they unleashed Spyhunter.. got in a number of fights over it which was normal in the 80's at an arcade- we would fight physically over the games.. kinda like a youtube channel or gaming forum now, except we could only troll each other face to face
this one kid i recall got really pissed that i continued his game.. other times someone would be bullied for their money.. then there was the idiot who tries to steal the quarter that a player would place on the machine to mark his place in line.. i think i tried to steal that quarter a time or 2.. there were also some good times, like when everyone cheered because I got to the boats on spyhunter.
played NES, sega genesis.. obsessed over the SNES version of wing commander stayed up all night on the weekend playing Phantasy Star..
then they unleashed DOOM..
would drive every day for a couple of months to toys are us just to play GoldenEye
then came Medal of Honor Frontline..
my first online FPS was TRIBES ariel assault on the PS2.. Went on to Battlefield 1942..
Then came PlanetsSide which was all I played for 3 years..
Played all the Bad Companies and Battlefields.. I have BF3 but don't ever play it.. I don't like it. I play Bad company 2 sometimes still. Played MAG.
I started EVE in 2010 and played off and on. spend most my time in null sec ratting. I currently am subbed but I never joined a corp so my char kinda screwed because no one trust that he's not an alt being that it is the character is 2 years old with no good corp will recruit me because they think I'm a spy/alt.. Whatever I have more fun with DUST beta anyway.
