This is an amalgam of things I've noticed that could use improving/tweaking/refinement since I've started playing. I realize some of this may already appear in other posts, but I thought a single post with everything would be simplest.
Charged sniper rifle: needs some indicator of how charged it is. Also, needs some way to dump the charge without firing the shot (other than having to knife/reload/sprint). Perhaps when charged, tapping X will drop the charge, while holding X will reload.
Leader commands: this is probably partially a bug, but currently there is no way to give commands pertaining to objectives. Only the "rally" command can be given on a point, and the marker is always placed near the command giver anyway. Clearly the ability to give attack/defend commands on the actual point would be beneficial. Also, some kind of "quick issue" commands would be very useful. Currently the only way to issue commands is to pull up the map and place the cursor over the desired location, and the command issuer can neither see nor react if attacked while issuing orders. My thought is that tapping "down" on the d-pad could be quick-issue, giving a default order for objectives on the HUD or vehicles/equipment in line-of-sight, while holding "down" opens the map to give more specific orders, or ones farther afield.
Item information: a few things here. 1) display the ranges for weapons in their item info. 2) For drop suits, display how many of each slot type the suit has available (currently you can't tell until you purchase the suit and fit it). 3) Drop uplinks should have the spawn timer in the item info. 4) As in EVE, the item info for equipped items should take bonuses from skills and equipped boosters into account (e.g. the damage for the assault rifle I have equipped in the fitting screen factors in my level of the weaponry skill and the damage enhancer I also have equipped).
Defense bonuses: just as you earn points for hacking a point, you ought to earn points for stopping a point takeover and/or for killing an enemy that is attempting to initiate a point capture.
Grenades: would be nice to have some way of restocking these. Yes, I understand there's a huge potential for grenade spam, but on the other hand, if you go a while without dying you quickly run out. I would propose limited restocking points, perhaps only at supply depots and/or high-level nanohives, perhaps also having a much longer restock time per grenade as compared to ammo.
Spawn points at objectives: I feel that these are camped far too easily. Upon initiating a capture, the capturing team need only take aim at the spawn point (or plant remote explosives) to completely deny the defending team a chance to prevent the capture. I'm sure some will say this is a valid strategy, and there may be some truth to that, but spawn camping ought to be slightly more difficult than dropping a remote charge. Methinks a larger spawn area or multiple randomized points near the objective is in order.
That's all I've got for now. More feedback when I notice something or have a grand new idea |
