I am sorry, but the dropship weapons are too strong. Or the damge distance is wrong, I dont know. |

Overpowered? I... can't even begin to consider how that conclusion was reached especially with a single sentence on the Opening Post. But I guarantee you a dropship is not overpowered and heres why I think this way
Sure they have nasty air superiority and can do that ridiculous grind on the ground to crush infantry but they are hardly overpowered even with all that. Even the very best dropship can be slaughtered with typically three to four prototype swarmers and the weaker ones take but one or two shots. And if the right forge gun hits that thing, they are roasted. They are glass cannons with missile turrets on them. Missile turrets might be a touch strong but they are ARE missiles being shot at infantry. But even then they are less accurate in a Dropship then they are in say a tank due to often the constant rocking back and forth and movement one must do in order to avoid being shot.
So claiming them to be overpowered is an overstatement because in short they aren't. |

Not really, they are merely flying targets for swarm launchers and turrets.

i have put 8 million and nearly all of it is related to dropship.
i die all the time. swarm launchers have infinite fly time. if 5 people shoot swarm launchers at me and dump their entire clips i am dead, 100%. unless i fly in a freaking crazy circle around the whole map the entire match and take the hits one by one while my shield recharges. if i do that my gunners cant hit anything, and nobody can spawn inside me because i have to exit the map sometimes and go into the red zone.
please fix swarm launcher infinite flight time |

The only unfair thing about Dropships in this build is the same problem we have for all vehicles.
They're too cheap.
This isn't going to last. We won't be given free Militia Dropships and tanks on release. |

the only problem with them is there is literally no reason to take any other weapon other than the rocket launchers, why bother when they do it all. |

Really people they are not to powerful. I will say militant and maybe standard missile launchers are little powerful but Proto are not. The only reason why people can easily hit with them is if there tower camping and really that just makes out for a team that will loose. You get one shot kills here and there on millitant gear with a proto version but that is rare and heavies can take 6-10 shots sometimes maybe 4 if your landing a few direct hits which are very hard to do unless your a amazing gunner.
I will say blasters and rails need a little rework through to make them a viable weapon there ability to get hit markers are horribel even when you know your aiming right dead on the guy. and the think that you shoot and if someone moves even after the shot is off it seems to throw that shot a mile away from the target.
I fly a Eryx with about 5m into shield skills and missiles and drop ship. My eryx is not the best tanked but it is super close I can take 3 protos will break my shield tank and sometimes take me out if they are using damage mods. you know how quick someone can lock on and throw out there swarms just 2 guys if you are not watching your envirment and shields and micro managing will blow you out of the sky within seconds. The only time they are powerful is if you have a good ground crew and good gunners with a very good pilot so your able to keep swarm guys suppressed before then can start locking on and taking you out.
Drop ships very far from being overpowered. They are really under powered in alot of ways. I can not even fly anymore because the swarm/dropship interaction is pretty broken right now.
As the other guy said once those proto swarms lock on and start following you spend the whole game running from them because they turn into a mob build up of missiles that can insta pop you. I have tried ducking behind buildings going under around and it has really become a 50/50 chance some times they hit the building other times they fly around and appear in thin air on top of you and bang your insta popped.
They are not too cheap you start spending 280k isk on a ship that will most likely get popped because everyone and there mother now has proto swarm launchers and you only make 180k isk a game if your lucky and get crap for skill points also.
I have moved to tanks because dropships are seriously broken. They are annoying and that is it. And they are so easy to take out it is not funny I just took out a eryx with millitant swarm launcher yestarday.
I do not know how people have trouble dealing with them. I can understand when your against a really good pilot that you might have trouble but even now it is not that hard. |

This. If we notice it and can run away, we should be able to avoid them.
Also, another reason that dropships are not OP besides the fact that they are really really ridiculously thin skinned is that they NEED a full load of mercs to really be useful.
If you have two gunners who know what they are doing, and a full squad of mercs to drop on an objective who know how to drop, assault, and get back on when done to go get another objective, AND the other team don't have any dropships/swarm launchers/forge guns/HAVs/LAVs of their own to shoot you, yea they are pretty OP.
That has NEVER happened.
They have potential to be amazing when used correctly by a well organized team.
But they are ridiculously easy to counter even with the militia SL fit.

The only thing I hate about dropships currently is how people can jump out of them once they have taken max damage and forced to ground.
If you were in the ship when the last shot was placed you should either go down with the ship or it should explode in the sky. Its a bit crap when u've landed your 3rd forge gun hit on a dropship and only get 60 points for the ship destruction as the 7 people inside all bailed out AFTER the dropship was 'dead'. |
