I am sure there is already a post on this but a quick search didnt bring anything up (it was quick!)
I think the triangle over players heads should be removed it interferes with the game play/ immersion/ environment/ and is generally annoying.
Players (friendlies and enemies) should just be dots on the HUD. (Scanner skills extend the distance of dots on HUD)
this would also help team coordination people would have to say: at x y is there and so on - rather than all running to triangles
Also, I think the shield and Armour bars over players (including triangles) shouldn't be seen through the environment. It again, in my view, interferes with the game play/ immersion of the game and is just a distraction.
When I turn a corner either my team mate has said x player is at half bars - or I don't know and its like lucky dip. More fun...

I'd suggest that the triangle should be limited to scan contacts. But then be available for the whole team.
As you said the bars should be only available within line of sight, but establishing a LOS check from every player to each other might be quite a load on resources. BUT it might be a solution to limit the LOS check to players with special recon modules or weapons (like a marker). |

The triangles are only visible in 2 situations:
1. You or a teammate have spotted the target 2. They just spawned.
Enemies flashing up on the HUD when spawning is probably a glitch, and hopefully will be fixed. Beyond that, unless your teammates have eyes on a target, you don't get the markers. |

@Garret Sorry if I my post wasnt clear. I understand how / why the triangles are there. I just dont think they should exist at all. They get in the way - generally.
What I meant by the HUD is that I think players (friendly and enelmy) should only show up in the HUD and not on the screen as triangles.
Scanner skills will extend the range you can see enemies and friendlies. And enemies are either on your HUD due to rate of movement or LOS from your team.
And I dont like the triangles or SP for 'spotting' as it becomes like BF3 with everyone spamming the select button |

HUD = heads-up-display = what you see on screen.
Unless you mean the minimap only?
In which case, I disagree. Enemy markers make it possible to identify which of those two identical-looking Dropsuits is the one you're meant to be shooting at. |
