So I've about summed up my experience of the Beta. I see a whole lot of potential in DUST514, of course anyone should, but with all games it will have some flaws here and there. The beta is a beta, it is not perfect. I played all the classes of infantry and would say they all are pretty balanced. The vehicles of course will have some sort of number limit, be it war points or a cap. Is DUST514 a FPS any gamer can play? Yes and no. Yes you can go around and shoot stuff all you want, but if you really want to PLAY the game you'll have to spend so much time training and waiting the game will eventually lose its appeal. Of course this dose not apply to an EVE Online player. EVE Online players are used to this type of time it takes to get something, EVE players have to have the best patience I've ever seen in gamers.
The average gamer would take some convincing to play this game after he/she learns that when you die you lose all your items that you worked so hard to obtain. Of course this is really like a slap in the face saying "Hay wake up! You idiots wanted an awesome game so this is what you get!" Though some people wont take to that so kindly. People are so used to getting something in a game and keeping it forever, if said game allows it, that they would rather go back to entertaining themselves in whatever way they were doing before. Or maybe by some luck the person will actually like this game, the whole free concept caught my eye at first, and will invest their oh so precious time into it.
Now after you've read all this go back to the title and read it aloud. Good, now that you've read it, or didn't, you would know that this is MY overall summary NOT yours. I'm sure whoever reads this will disagree with whatever I've said. But hey, this is a website basically made for people to flap their meat flaps about what is good and bad or who's right and wrong. So don't bother posting a reply that is a hate message against this or a "Your an idiot and you don't know what you're talking about" because really? Where will that get you? You could have just gone to another forum and complained/complemented there.
-I hope this game will be so amazing people will wake up and realize that the games that have been coming out of recent have been the same thing over and over again. Have fun in the Beta ya'll, I know I will. (not really) |
