Second Weekend Feedback (from an Ex-Eve player, console newbie who is giving DUST a shot.)
Things that make me to not want to play the game or spend money in it: - The 9 or so loading/warning/marketing screens into the game you make me wait through. - No permanent AUR items. Personally, I won't spend money in a "this drop costs me another $" way. Fashionable equipment, more so. If it lasts. Speed leveling through the learning curve also, because I am rather impatient. I like, though, how this is currently not a battle of the wallets. The PLEX system's effect on alliance balancing is what kept me away from "high-end" EVE ("battle of the wallets") - That air conditioning sound loop in the quarters, while comparing attributes and switching back and forth between market and skills screen for comparison.
Also, I figured out sprint, yay! Still miss the Eve Soundtrack.
Looking forward to the pilot dropsuit. Wondering about the lack of a single flying weapon platform that allows me to both steer and shoot at the same time. But, on the other hand, personally, I would prefer a game where vehicles take their superiority not from an "ISK-in-battle" effect, but from enforcing team usage to be useful.
Love the maps.
Ultimately, "building and defending some territory over time" as well as "quick entry into the fun, on my own schedule" is going to be the rationale for my decision on whether I will want to continously invest time/money into DUST. If the bigger wallet builds the bigger territory, I am out. If the biggest timesink builds the most stable territory, I am out. In most other cases, this is a fun game. Don't know whether I am your average target group, though. Thanks for the product so far!

Oh, also, those "new merc contract available" sound bits in the pre-battle room play. every. single. time.
The restock feature does not remember the amount of suits I stocked up last time. That would make me spend more, if I had not to scroll starting from zero upwards, every time. |
