Pilots using dropships as slegde hammers is beyond ennoying.
Nearly every match this is happening plus the engines are kinda quite aswell.
So if your in a gun fight your a sitting duck.
Give them damage for landing so hard or make it you dont instantly die, or stoping it all together would be superb.
Plus imo it destroys the ambience seeing dropships bouncing round like kangaroo's all over the map.

I second this.
Last weekend it wasn't so bad but this weekend whenever I play it's a major problem. One match I played there was one dropship constantly dropping on our heads. The next match, there were two.
I quite like a Heavy setup, but I prefer to use it only when I feel I need to do so. Lately, I've been pretty much solely using it because it's the only way I can try to counteract the constant dropship ramming.
Please let them take damage when they hit the ground to put people off treating them like this; it's incredibly annoying and leaving it the way it is seems to be promoting bad play.

I also agree. Although i can see it being funny to some, stomping around in a dropship, racking up kills, it is quite annoying to most players and it does take away somewhat from the aesthetic of the game.
Also, don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I have died severaltimes while manning a gun on a dropship or even just riding as a passenger when the ships just suddenly crashes to the ground because the pilot has bailed out. Perhaps a warning sound of some kind could notify the passengers that the pilot has bailed out? Sometimes players are just so focused on hitting targets on the ground that they fail to realize that the ship is heading for the ground.

@spaceweasel listen to the engines, they cut out when there's no pilot, pretty unique sound to it that they kind of spin down...and you can hear them from quite a distance away if you listen for them, well beyond the draw range as far as i can tell. but its not a screaming jet sound just a dubstep kind of deep wubwubwub...and finally, dropships actual take quite a bit of damage if you just smash them into the ground, the trick is just not leaving enough room for a person between ship and ground, and most of the time, snipers are to busy faping between shots or high fiving them selves in a mirror to notice i'm...very...slowly...landing on them... |

Simply use a heavy class or "C4" (dont know the name) but you can shoot the guys on turrets easily as they are unprotected. Dropships are actually very weak if not upgraded and if a guy is crushing everyone hes probably a noob so no upgrades  |
