Im not a big fan of the way you change positions in vehicles, i mean the teleporting from 1 seat to another, its just stupid, and it looks really stupid,
i think halo had it best, if you wanted to drive you went to the drivers side, pushed enter and it climbed in, if you wanted to be gunner you went to the back where the mounted gun was and pushed enter, if the driver wanted to use the gun he gets out and walks round the back and climbs in the gun,
halo has been out for years now, so i so no excuse for going backwards, if they can do it why cant dust,
ok if the vehicles have built in teleporters that move people around the various positions then that's ok, but if you are actually suppose to be getting into the vehicles under your own power then please fix this. |

I think it is more like you just switch controlls to whatever turret you want to control, without even changing seats. |

This doesn't sound too bad, but I'd like to add an addendum to it: either have a slight, but noticeable cooldown on the seatswaps or add animations for swapping position, as I have had a few issues with missing the seat I wanted to be in, and because I was in the gunners seat for a splitsecond, the other guy 'gunning' for it skipped over it. |

If you really want, just close your eyes and imagine your guy climbing over the seats. |

No.
Halo was bad.
Have you not noticed that the turrets on tanks in this game are being controlled by someone inside the tank? There is no guy with his head sticking out of the top of the turret firing it, its just a gun on a gimbaled stand.
This isn't WWII. We can control turrets by controls INSIDE the tank.
As for the Dropship, they are all right next to each other so no need to take too long there.
The only vehicle where it makes sense is the LAV.
But in all seriousness, what would you accomplish by restricting it to approaching the vehicle from a certain angle? Why would you do that? |

Making players actually change positions sounds like a great idea. It eliminates the "desperation/about to die" seat swap. Plus it's more immersive. |

No its not. Its less immersive.
And why would you be switching seats all the time anyway? Is it because you are using your vehicle solo with no gunners? if that is the case, then you are not using them as intended anyway |

one of the reasons i want this is simply because that is how it would happen in reality, ccp has given us a universe to play with with its own laws and teleporting between locations in a vehicle dosnt fit in, unless some sort of tech is involved,
with the dropships you should jump on and approach the mounted gun and push the activate button, that is how it would happen |

Credibility is fundamental: magically entering vehicles without animation or switching seat instantly is silly.
If I enter a tank I want to see my character open the hatch, enter it and then close the hatch behind him. Same thing for Dropships: open the cockpit door, and enter the dropship. |

You're not manually shifting to a control panel in the vehicle though.
You plug in when you're inside the vehicle, and access the relevant controls for the system you'll be operating. Doesn't matter where in the vehicle you are, only matters which interface you have active.
The actual process of getting into and out of the vehicle could use animations, but that's it. |
