I just want to talk about character creator and UI and something I wanted to see improved. English is my third language and being dyslexic doesn-¦t help to expect grammar and spelling mistakes I be talking on an roll as a person how have just picked up the game from PSN and how they might see the game in some part of this feedback.
Character creator : The creator is the first piece of element you can iterate with, So let-¦s say an person just picked up dust 514 and just wanted to try out the game and your first choice as a player will be picking an race.. the first thing that come to mind will probably be ogre, troll, elf and Human because this is what we have learned from other games but this is not the case from what I can tell there no appearance difference at least in Dust. Another thing is does this affect my game play experience or not, can I play with my friends from the other race or not, all this should be explained when looking at the screen character creator but at the moment this is not the case at the moment. So what I wanted to see is a better explanations of the character creator
Like "Race does not have any effect on your appearance and game play experience." or something similar, what you are about to pick and what affect it have on my experience. This should limited the "WTF it didn-¦t say anything about this" moment.
Eg. Let-¦s say you tell your friend to try out Dust514, he pick up the game from PSN and begin creating an character but he picks a Amarr where you are an Gallente can the two still play faction warfare together or are they limited is other aspect of the game. this should be explained before pick your race. and this goes for the whole character creator: Race, Background, gender and so on. Neocom and Marketplace :
As it stand at the moment the Marketplace and the Neocom contradict each other. What do I mean by that is.. Well it simple Neocom is self can right now be controller by the analog stick but not the marketplace but that is not what the menu tells if your look at the picture will see an image from market and you might have noted that the menu have a small arrow point to the right. http://dust.ccpgamescdn.com/Dust514/client-text/manual/dust_manual_new_doublepage9.jpg
This tell the user to flick the stick to the right to proceed to the next piece like you can in the neocom but this is not actual the case, When you flick the analog stick while you are on the menu it will instead go over to the buy AUR instead. So at the moment the rest of the UI "Neocom" allows you to do A and the marketplace menu also tell you to do A, but you have do B. this is not the best way to create good affordance between the user and the Interface So what I would like change is either allow us to flick the analog to proceed in the market or replace the arrow with an icon of X butten that only show up on the piece you have currently selected.
In game vehicle menu:
So at the moment that calling for a vehicle you will be placed in an queue that will either denied or accept your request. At the moment there are an few things I would like to see changed.
Let-¦s start from the beginning when you bring up the menu that allow you to order an vehicle.
The first screen you get the option to pick between three option LAV HAV And Dropship. There some information I would like to get from this screen How many LAV HAV and Dropship are the currently in play on my team and if the queue is full or not.
let-¦s say you picked the HAV.
You now have the option to pick between the fits you have created it would be nice to see how many I current have left of each fit. So I can see if this is my last fit or not and from that decide if I want to use it now or maybe wait for later.
So you have now ordered an vehicle.
At the moment the screen will say.
In queue --> Denied or Accepted. At the moment all this text has a red color which I find a little wired, How I would like to see it.
In queue (yellow)
Denied (Red)
Accepted (Green)
You can now just from the color see it your request had been accepted or not. making easier when in the moment of combat.
Drop point menu:
When you have picked your drop point and about to selected an drop suit I would like to see how many of each drop suit there currently in play on the battlefield on my team and how many I have left of my costume fits.
This is all for now, If you have any improvement please do tell.
