No I like this idea A LOT, its the best one I've heard so far, but I want to make it fully effective, any death results in a 3000 dmg explosion for the militia one within a 1m radius, up to 5000 for the next and 9000 for the prototype. This would create unpleasant surprises for tanks and add a whole new element of 'well ****' to when someone jumps on top of your tank and starts shooting you =D. You've now got a permanent parasite companion who you'd better hope lives and shoots you for the rest of the match, because as soon as he dies so do you =P.
Also when knife killing gets the Buff it so badly needs this will also serve as its counter easily, and dropships wont have a prayer. The low level militia ones wont kill a prototype dropship, but the advance or prototype ones will be enough of a deterrence that no one will even bother crushing ANY opponent for fear of him just happening to be the one with the module equipped =).

Exactly what you're looking for, already in game.
Disagree, too much effort to counter an unintended role for a vehicle, as well as a waste of valuable resources also not intended for that purpose. I see your point a counter exists, but for an exploit the counter should be a deterrent, and preferably passive.
Crushing is not a glitch, not outside the game mechanics, and not 'TOTALLY' unintended... But its exploitative because it wasn't intended to be used AS MUCH as it is. The other suggestions will serve as much greater deterrent, and thus are better in general.
Also I say give additional points to the person who gets the kill by being crushed and self destructed. Additional reason to encourage dropships to crush you, and thus discourage them to do so, and eventually prevent this exploitative behavior.
The key question, is would this addition in ANY way shape or form be game breaking? And the simple answer is no, its not the vehicles intended primary method of attack or killing, so it is merely mediating not breaking. It prevents vehicles from making this there primary method of attack, while simultaneously maintaining that they can do it if they wish to take the unnecessary risk. |
