Call in your own dropship, gain altitude, go bowling.
Seriously, if you ram them, they fall off and die and its really funny. I get tons of kills this way and I just keep doing it until people stop.
The best way for CCP to prevent it from happening is to make the tower tops just sloped enough not to be able to sit still on them.
But then people will park on top of the MCC.

Keep holding L1 and rock back and forth a little bit. You will continue to gain altitude. IF you don't rock back and forth, you stall out.
Also, be prepared for it to be slow. Once you get up there, just ram the guy and he falls and dies. Good times. |

Ultimate "No contribution to the game" location but I getz lulz and killz pointz.
I hate when I see people up there.
Its not what is meant to take place, I don't think they need to remove the ability completely, but I do think that there should be a way to counter it.
Perhaps just tilting the roof enough that you can't sit in a dropship without a pilot without sliding off.
That way a piloted DS with gunners could take advantage of the high ground, and snipers could take advantage as well, but we wouldn't have the abuse we have now. |

Thats gamey, and stupid.
I hate when games put in arbitrary boundaries for no reason other than to restrict my gameplay to what the developers intend to occur.
If you don't want people to use it the way they have, then make the towers have sharp pointed tops so you can't land on them.
But just saying "off limits" is dumb. |

I've been on both sides of this and it's pretty rediculous. At least on top of towers they can only see target that allies have spotted and the accuracy is a major issue. I don't use this tactic myself but every time I get in a dropship now I do a quick sweep over the buildings for enemy dropships. It's very easy to deal with and like i said, a lot less game breaking than parking them on low level buildings near spawns. Also by doing this they remove the dropship as a potential spawn point as a pilot is required for people to be able to spawn inside them. It's anoying but it's a valid tactic, easy to deal with, and far from being unbalanced.
Agreed, that is why I thought just sloping the roof a little bit would make it less viable, but still doable.
But I would disagree that the lower buildings is broken, it takes one guy with a swarm launcher to undo that little bit of hilarity, whereas the towers can't be shot by swarms on the ground.
TO be honest though, we DS pilots just need more people willing to be gunners.
A moving DS is much better at taking things out, camping spawns, and covering objectives with two able minded and active gunners. And even MORE effective with a squad of mercs riding along. I just wish when the objective where taken they would wait, I usually try to pick them back up and hit another objective, but they just run away. Makes me a sad panda. |
