today i was trying to play a match where we where attacking we couldn't even get out of the starting area due to some type of missile launcher that it seemed people where using i believe it might of been the one on the drop ship all i know is it made the match annoying and stupid if it keeps up then the game its self will be a fail. in my opinion this game needs alot of work the game mode is not that fun and is mostly annoying both of them. the map is horrible and the game itself seemed unbalanced and slow due to the amount of people in the fight and the fact alot of things don't make sense. for example the mini gun in the game the one you can walk around with.. can over heat.. that right there is just stupid even the hand pump mini guns didn't over heat cause so how does a futuristic one over heat so quickly and have to wait so long for it to cool down its just stupid. i understand this is there first shooter game i think they should try and team up with a company that are experts in making shooters to see if they can at least get some tips. other then that the game feels okay just empty for the most part. |

Yeah, people routinely park dropships on top of the towers where you can't really hit them at all and shoot down on people. It is amazingly annoying when it happens, but I'd recommend just grabbing a dropship of your own and hopefully dealing with them that way.
Either way, it's beta. No need for "the game will fail" stuff. Talking about problems and making sure CCP is aware of them is part of the process. |

Missiles are not OP.
This, by design is not just a COD gun fight. If this is your expectation you will always be disappointed. Vehicles are part of the game and there are game mechanics to counter vehicles.
I use swarm launchers, forge guns, or drop ships to counter drop ships on the tower. I and many other players have no issues countering these tatics. Just like killing tanks is a cake walk when you have proper equipment and team work.
I will say that the current map tends to get one sides by the end and normally ends with spawn camping. Obviously map generation and spawning are evolving things in dust

I believe where missiles are concerned the overpowered idea comes from the area of effect
The missiles from on top of the towers have no range limit and blanket areas without even seeing what's in that area
I've used drop ships to get up there, planted drop uplinks/nano hives, and even used the swarm launcher to shoot down hostile drop ships and even structures, but using a turret to spam area of effect damage against infantry from up there seems to be a very ******** way of playing the game and pissing a lot of people off with how much damage it can cause
IMHO, missile area off effect damage should have some sort of sig radius multiplier where smaller targets take less damage, this is the way it is in EvE |

I think they should make a morter type swarm launcher kinda like the one in killzone 3. You lock on, shoot, and a round goes straight up and comes raining down on a target instead of going in at an awkward angle. |

I agree with Grimmiers that in the same way BF3 has the Javelin that locks on and attacks from above. i think this should be the case with swarms, go up, get to the target and rain hell down from above. your free dropship tactic wont be valid long as free vehicles will not always be |

Were you here to see the prior map builds? if so you'll realize the towers are specific to this map, and will not occur in every map available. Simply put, this tactic will not hold out if they bring back older maps like the ravines we used to romp through. All points that a dropship could land on were within Assault range. |

I think some of the frustration isn't entirely because of how the dropships are being used, but the ease in which they're acquired.
Because you can pretty much just rain vehicles in every game it seems like right after you take out a vehicle there's another (or two) to take it's place.
There was one point in a game where I was crushed 5 times because someone was camping a spawn point with a dropship. I destroyed his dropship...and he just went and got another and came back.
But, if memory serves vehicles won't be so easily acquired in the live game. So hopefully this won't be such an issue. |

They know how ppl will constantly spam Swarm launchers if it always lands at a single point (like how RPGs are spammed on CoD). bout time SOMEONE noticed and did something about it. i do enjoy the Swarms launch method i have no issues. as for Mortars/Javlins, have it as a heavy with ONE round, 3 spare rounds, and a reload time equal or slightly more than the HMG do discourage abuse. |

I vote some sort of shield that you can drop to at least allow the losing team a chance to call down some armor to fight back.
just saying, probably would become OP fast, but I suggest it can only be called down at each starting area and last 5 min only. |
