this i actually agree with . partly . if you watch one for a while you will see that while they are in the pilot seat you can see them from quite a distance . but when they switch to the side guns they vanish . if CCP could fix that it would be cool |

- cheers Hahahahaha, 50 odd kills? Really? The most I've ever seen one of those nubcakes do is 10-15. 90% of the time the can't even keep anyone from taking the letters right out from under them. If they weren't invisible due to draw-in they wouldn't even bother going up there because the forge guns would knock them off from across the map. They're basically exploiting the draw distance. If CCP can't improve their draw distance they'll have to restrict the flight ceiling. Simple as that.

Edit: Again, not a vehicle exploit but rather a rendering one. When it gets fixed (which I'm confident it will) this tactic will vanish immediately. |

Yeah thats the solution! Lets make these dropships fat pigs that forsake the entire purpose of their name and you can only fly 10' off the ground.
THE GAME IS A SANDBOX. There should be NO ceiling that is BELOW the tallest structures and for a reason. If you are smart enough to gain a tactical advantage because of a location you trained your damned self to be able to fly too, well tough turf for everyone else who hasnt.
This game is a sandbox, the minute you start pulling this crap it loses its original focus.
Deal with it. |

Well this is also of topic to a little but also about the dropships the thing is poeple just fly around in a dropship ramming poeple who are walking on ground it like a little kamiekaze style so you walk around ore you are snyping out of nowhere boom dropships drops on you easy kill i know its realistic but i could just fly a dropship all the time in battle to get easy kill whats the fun in that |

I created this thread a while back and kind of wish I hadn't. When I made this thread I had previously tried to fly a dropship up there to take care of the 'problem' and couldn't get enough altitude to get on top of the tower. Now that I have played more I realize that this isn't a glitch or exploit, just that for some reason, that ship didn't want to go high enough. I regularly fly up there now and have managed to take down entire squads camping up there. I think the addition of the towers is a great way to give your team a safe place to spawn.
If I could delete this thread I would. |

A well skilled sniper should be able to handle the tower bandits. Or at least distract them long enough for someone to bring in a dropship against them. Also, the avatars don't need to be in visual range in order to be able to hit them with a single shot. If you can guess there they are exactly and have a good enough sniper rifle, you can blind fire at them and maybe get lucky and land a kill.
They may have the advantage of seeing 50% of the map, but they are at a disadvantage in several ways.
1. There are too many obstructions on the ground, thus it's easy to hide from tower bandits. 2. If you can't see them, they can't see you. Every character has a cut off point where the visual model of the avatar simply disappears. I use this to my advantage in order to get around the tower bandits. 3. Scout suits have a low scan resolution compared to other suits. Imagine a swarm launcher merc trying to track that. 4. Swarm launchers need a lock in order to hit anything effectively. If a swarm merc is standing right in front of me and unable to kill me even when standing still, what chance does a swarm launcher have in killing a running merc hundreds of yards away? 5. Unlike a merc on the ground, a merc on a tower has almost nowhere else to go but either jump off or fly out. If he jumps off, he risks landing close enough for you to land a kill shot on him especially if he has no idea where exactly you are shooting from. If he flys out, he risks having to deal with swarm launchers or an enemy dropship.

No, don't feel regrets. If you figured out an effective counter in game without CCP's help, then the towers are fair game. So far, my effective counter is to snipe the crap out of them. |

If the draw distance is increased as said in earlier posts CCP regards the towers as a non issue, which is most likely why they haven't done the simple thing and lowered the flight ceiling. |

Its working as it should. Someone gets up there with a dropship, lays down a drop uplink and camps there. If you need to take them down fly to the opposite end of the map, fly up as high as you can and floor it to their directions, try teabagging them with the dropship and when its about to die, jump and gun the rest down, preferably getting the drop uplink first. |

Getting on top of the towers is not an exploit and this game is definitely not call of duty. Drop ships can fly in space and survive atmospheric entry, so why can't they reach the top of the towers, adapt or die!
This is not your cod, Dust 514 is part of EvE, and EvE is one universe that weeds out simple minded people who cannot adapt.
EvE online is all about thinking, learning, strategy, and alliances aka "Team Work" if you have a drop ship on top of a tower raining down hell; go ahead and get into a drop ship, go up there and shoot them off!

Dropships on the towers can sometimes be hit by swarm launchers, they can always be hit by forge guns or snipers can take out the gunner(this is my favorite method - can be done from the ground or from another tower).
Snipers are a bit trickier as you can't see them from the ground at all(probably due to the bright light that blinds everyone on the ground but not anyone on the towers). I will take a dropship to one of the adjacent towers and snipe the sniper, then if there is a drop uplink over there I will fly over and destroy that as well. |

I really hate when they park them right on the edge so that the lip of the tower is directly blocking their icon, which just so happens to be where my swarms lock onto. No matter how far you try to bend their initial flightpath, they will always cluster together by the time they reach the top of the tower and harmlessly explode under the lip.
Then I've got to call in my own dropship and attack from the same height. Meanwhile, the guy has killed my whole stupid team twice over. |

It's not a exploit, it never has been, it's a legitimate tactic , just wait till they add in ground artillery vehicles the tears will be flowing then, if you people can't figure out how to counter this perhaps you should quit before you embarrass yourselves even more with this QQ. If you want to call it camping then go ahead but it is NOT a exploit, if its counterable it legit , there are quite a few ways to take a dropship off the tower L2P. |

Yeah I had that happen about every other match I played last weekend. Was on a tower once thought it was bogus to hang up there so I jumped, but then for the rest of the match when I would use my scope they all (opposing team) just dissapeared. Unscope reapear, scope again gone, don't know if its a bug or a player to player visibility/distance restriction. |
