Since my point seems to be consistently missed, here it is, short and sweet: My requests are pretty simple. More engagement from CCP with the Dust 514 community here on the forums, and of an equal quality to that found from them with their EVE Online community. It's that simple.
This thread is from, now, around a month ago. We still have some of the same issues as ever, despite CCP's response there. Where do we go from here?
Here's the very first spark. You can see in my post there, and some of the other users' posts lend credit to my points, that you weren't sufficiently clear to those that jumped in for the beta weekend event that they were only getting access for that weekend only. The way the email's written, you can't tell that either.
Now, I'm not the only person a bit peeved at how you're handling this beta, and you probably have loads of other similar complaints. That should tell you something though. You're not working this beta well at all so far. There are people requesting better communication with CCP Games, with the devs, with the GMs, and so on. These are signs of major problems that need mending before they screw up your image before your ship has even left the dry docks. What Dusters, at least those equally as interested in Dust 514 as myself, deserve is the same sort of engagement with us as you provide to your capsuleers in EVE Online. We may not be paying you as much as them, but if you want us to pay you anything, you have to show us you're interested in our community as much as the EVE Online community.
It's beginning to look like we Dusters may very well need to either establish our own style of Council of Stellar Management as the EVE players did, or find a way to gain seats in that very same Council, if we're have to have our voices heard at all.
It shouldn't be that way though. We've all participated in your beta here, to some extent or another. We've invested our time in a part of your universe. We deserve to have the same time invested back into us, not only in updates, which are appreciated, but in communication. Not in obscure IRC chats either, right here. It is here that you direct players, it is here where players post their ideas and thoughts, and it is here where they expect your engagement. Most users, I can tell you from several years of experience on various forums, completely ignore stickies, even when there are a bunch of them. They're not going to notice that one amongst many that tells them, hey, here's where you can expect to chat with the CCP crew.
I don't expect you to know that, I also don't expect you to stop putting stickies up, for those few that view them like myself, they're nice and I thank you for that effort. Yet you should be aware of that issue with users ignoring them and you shouldn't try to use them as a shield for poor engagement with the community. That's simply disrespectful and a weak excuse in itself.
We deserve better, CCP Games. If you want us, you need to ramp up your efforts. As of now, you're leaving extremely poor impressions, and from what I can tell, it's not just with me, but with many players and in a variety of ways. |

I have yet to see a punch bowl let alone a single slice of pie. I was told that at the end of the beta there would be cake... The cake is a lie. Thanks guys, I can tell your concern is palpable and delicious, and occasionally a lie. |

Yes, I do. That doesn't mean they should slack on it, nor that we should give them the space to. In other words, I realize if we don't keep them held to a higher standard, their quality of service is more likely to decrease than increase. |

So your going to chastise them until they get their quality up to snuff? good going. Tell me how that goes for you. Did you read my post? I'm not trying to chastise them so much as point out areas that they could improve upon, as well as requesting that they give us the same sort of engagement, if not more at least during this period, that they provide to their EVE Online community.
There's no reason we should expect less from them. |

Really Mirun? One entitlement rant wasn't good enough for you so you copy/pasted it? At least you changed the title... Sorry, but I wasn't getting the sort of responses I wanted here, and it occurred to me that it was perhaps better suited for General Discussion. I did know that it was in poor taste, and I do apologize to anyone bothered by it.

The devs get a summary of the forums every day, so they do actually read a lot of it. Atleast i get the feeling in the IRC that there is pretty direct communications, so i have no idea what your talking about. While I believe this thread now deserves closure or deletion, I want to address this beforehand. CCP guides players to the forums to provide their feedback and to engage in discussion, not an easily missed IRC channel. I am in the process of acquiring access to the IRC channel now, but many other users won't know of it or won't bother with it. The latter part is their own problem, but the former can' t be helped unless they somehow know to ask about it. |
