Probably like many of you I might want to record in game video of Dust 514 (of course no publishing while the nda is in effect!).
How would I do that? On a PC thanx to Fraps et al this is no problem but how to do this on a PS3? Over HDMI or component?
Some pointers would be greatly appreciated! |

I have a "Hauppauge HD PVR" box, which can capture the analogue component out and realtime encodes it to MP4. Because of the limitations of Component out, you can only capture 720p or 1080i. DO get a quality (original) component cable for the PS3, I got a cheap one, and the shadows and noise is almost at an unacceptable level.

This is more than a bit premature. The NDA does not permit yout to show anyone else or tell anyone else, anything about the beta. I strongly recommend you not pursue this further during beta, but would happily support a post on the suggestion forum to include support for the ps3's native video capture APIs in the final release.
This is Spork Witch in EVE, Deus Necare for my original dust account. |

It can record other tings as well, you don't have to record DUST :)
But it is ok to record, for private use, but you just can't show it to anyone not in the beta, so Geirskoegul have a point, and don't record. |

you can go in lots of way's
1 buy a hdmi input video card to have the video feed direct to you pc you can use cyberlink to view/record it also buy a HDMI splitter this way you can play on one screen while the pc records on its screen.
Second use a HDPVR
Third. some tv's come with usb recording software built in. i can use this where i plug in a empty usb flash drive press record to usb in the TV menu and it records everything on the TV untill i press stop.
Transfer that on to the pc edit the start and end to look neat and hey presto you have a video of your game play.
Please remember the NDA for now and there are a few active members that search youtube for dust514 footage to report to CCP so untill CCP gives us the green light to post up videos then dont touch it.
Just google a few things use your imagination on how you could record the game and google the parts you think you will need.
HDMI is easy if you use a HDMI splitter Plus its easyer still to buy a video input card search for CCTV video input card this also comes with a recorder pre installed but yet you can use the input to show up on some video editing software just click the option import video from device like camara it will show up then use either fraps or said recording software to record it |

Remember you cant publish any of the stuff your filming now even when the NDA is lifted. You can only film content from afther the NDA. Any ting pre NDA is going to have a no publish for ever... So unless you want to put your account at risk I advise you to wait a wile. |

So that you can record Dust 514 matches after the game has been released? |
