I'm not certain if this a bug or if my lack skills cause this but the missile turrets don't seem to shoot even remotely straight if the tank is moving. Now before anyone can tell me I need to lead the targets I am well aware of that fact. I user to train for that on a real gun turret. This also happens occasionally when the tank is sitting still. Any info is appreciated. |

It is due to the motion of the tank (or if you are on the main turret - mounted turret, when the main turret is turning) and the inheritance mechanic affecting the missiles.
It isnt a bug but yes, a pain in the ass.
The problem is, is that inheritance on missiles are really nice for gunships, but not on tanks |

I dont think it is done by movement of tank, because this happens to me even if standing still. |

Maybe you missed the part that said sometimes it happens when the tank is not moving. Also the smallest amount of movement would not cause nearly 45 degrees of variation.
I apologize for not fully explaining some of that before |

it tightens up as you put skill points into it. |

Not much, I have Large Missile tech 1 (req small missle 4) researched -- moving in vehicles is affected by overcompensation of the turret's position when moving.
In other words, the turret never actually fires from where the turret's muzzle is, it fires from a few feet in the direction directly opposing the vector of motion. So if your moving right, it'll originate to the left, if your moving up, it will originate below. The angle of fire, however is the same as the actual angle used, so from a mathematical standpoint the missile path is parallel to what it should be, but is shoved backwards a good deal.
Visual example
If moving this way .I You'd expect the fire to act like this from the gun. .I V += -----------------------x instead .I It fires like this .I V ------------------------x +=
So the bullet/missile doesn't actually come from the gun, but rather behind it. |

If that is whats happening that seems a serius issue with the mechanics.
It just always looked to me like it was firing off at about a 35-40 degree angle sometimes more |
