Hi. This is just a proposition but we could have Active reloading in Dust 514. -If you don't know what Active Reloading is go here. Now we have to use a Skill to improve our reloading speed but with active reloading we coudl be the one to truly control it. This is how Active Reloading could work:
Use a skill to get access to the "Active Reloading".
On the HUD a bar appear and if you press Reload at the right time you reload faster.
If you miss the Active Reload you simply reload normally: no penalty.
No special bullets awarded with Active Reloading a la Gears of War: just faster reload.
IMO it would add a nice touch and add a new layer of tactical possibilities. |

No. Just no.
P.S. This is an item-based game. Giving people bonuses for being 20 years younger and with ADHD is not the way DUST needs to go. |

This is a skill based game, a.k.a. First Person Shooter, where reflexes matter: this is not a item-based game. This is why Active Reload could work.
If you think reflexes should never come into place in a competitive online video-game then you should play Chess Online not FPS. |

I don't think it's a good idea just because it doesn't make sense. Reloading a weapon takes a certain amount of time, and any attempt to speed it up only manages to screw it up. |

I don't think Dust would benefit from the added mini-game of pushing buttons to reload faster. When my character is reloading I spend that time checking my map and HUD to think about where my next goal is and how I should proceed; having a flashing button or being concerned with timing is just going to distract from tactically thinking about objectives and map awareness. |

If you think DUST is going to be a competetive online FPS with reflexes and skill more important than skill points and money put into the fitting, then go play CoD or some other generic console FPS game, because DUST won't be what you are looking for. |

No!!!!!!!! this is not going to work and i will tell you why.
If i played a lot and upgraded my reload speed to max and played with a hmmm a assualt rifle (or something with a fast RoF and good bullet DMG) i would be god. If i were to perfect this active reloading mess then i would become TOO OP. Think about it, if i max base reload speed and used active reload, the time it would take to enter the active reload mechanic we be less. Then if i get if right i could reload extremely fast. TOO FAST!! |

^^^ Active Reload would not give you a faster reload speed then the one obtained with skills. The only difference would be that the faster reload would be player controlled and not handled by the game |

I do not like the "active reloading," but I would be in favor of tactical reloads. In almost every modern weapon platform, you can reload just 1 round into the chamber in a tactical situation. It is super fast, but you only get 1 round. They have done something similar to this on the shotgun, but not on the other weapons.
There are those moments when a guy has 0% armor, and you have to reload. Because of the time lost, the guy runs away. With that 1 more round, you may be able to finish the job. The argument could be that your side weapon is for that, but as an assault rifle user, my side arm has no where near the same range. |

To the OP, NO.
ITs a bad idea in every way possible.
Its campy and stupid.
For things that reload one round at a time, I would be ok with interrupting the reload before complete, like the swarm launcher or something. Then you could hit reload and if you interrupt it before completion, you get some rounds. Not with magazines. |

I have to agree with everyone. When I first read the jist of it, I thought "hmm ok" but then after reading everyone elses thoughts, I have to agree with what they say: this would turn dust into a game where people spend hours mastering one little technique to get an edge on the rest of us. A technique, mind you, that's totally pointless. We have SKILLS that help reloading faster. train those! theres a skill for everything, we don't need gimmicks from other games. |
