At Fanfest during one of the Dust presentations it was said that all guns/equipment could go on any dropsuit provided you had the modules/ enough of cpu/pg. my request is why csnt i have an LMG with a scout dropsuit as promised. Feel free to correct me if i am mistaken and share your thoughts. |

I don't believe they've developed an LMG...
If you're talking about the HMG, that's a heavy weapon, and they did say you would need a heavy dropsuit for that.
If you're talking about the SMG, you can fit that, it goes in your sidearm slot.
What they meant by any weapon was any light weapon. Also, light weapons can go in heavy slots. |

I've seen the video before. Again, if you want to fit heavy weapons, you need a heavy dropsuit. Doesn't make sense to have a massive gun on a tiny dropsuit. |

Because of that idiotic statement I think they should develop a medium weapon class for assault up dropsuits with something like lmgs and a single shot high damage rocket launcher. Outcry aside it would give the light suits (scout/pilot?) An unfair advantage ( equal firepower but a smaller and more manuverable target)

I think the request is valid. It might not make much sense for a scout to try and carry a HMG, but if he has a proto suit and enough cpu/power to run it, I'd be ok with it working and giving him massive recoil in the process.
I'd even like to see a large turret strapped on to a LAV.
It would probably be a bad idea in many respects, but someone could make it work.
It might be more work than value to implement properly though.
A scout mowing everyone down with a HMG from a standing position wouldn't be realistic though, it'd make you do cartwheels. |
