It is your D-Link Router that is the problem most likely. It is the one that is a dual device a Modem and a Router....I'm guessing this because in the jumble of what you posted you failed to mention any MODEM. Most likely the firewall on the modem/router needs to be adjusted more than the port opening or DMZ can provide.
Why don't you go over to ping test and to speed test and get a general idea of what your speed and connection are like (you are looking for Packet Loss, and if it is under a thousand miles to your test point it should give you an A rating at least). Then call up comcast and get them to walk you thru the install set-up process.
Second thing is you can't modify the first 4 dropsuits, they are your defaults. You would have to create a new dropsuit in order to modify or change a dropsuit, you might even have to go to market and purchase Militia Gear, which has it's own subheading in the Market that I don't recall from the last build. |

I don't know about your isp comcast but I know mine will not disable the ISP's Provided Modems firewall, as it would directly impact the overall stability of their network would be the phrase the manager used with me. If it is your own modem, I would say try to update the firmware but good luck with that, as only ISP's are allowed to do that, they are the only ones the modems manufacturer will provide firmware updates to.
To quote one of the PSN's MVPs over in the old forums support section who put together a substantial Network & Connection Faq (good luck finding it over in the new lithium forums), can you go over to a friends house with your ps3 and try it from there to see if the problem persists?
Are you wireless for that matter? Without telling you to go wired, have you changed the wireless channel to something other than the default (some say it goes to 11, sorry spinal tap moment).
How did the modem get set up, was it the isp's guys? Did you have the router when they did the install or did you do it yourself later? Did you provide the isp the router's mac address or did you clone the one created by your primary computer hooked up to the modem, or are you using the modem's mac address in the router?
That is to not even ask about how many networks are trying to work on your pc under the network and sharing in windows pc's.
Did you try some PS3 Safe Mode options to possibly fix any problems with the ps3, make a back-up before attempting anything because I don't want to hear another person say they erased their ps3. |
