Please buff the HMG. Amarr dropsuits should not be paired with assault rifles. Right now they do less damage than assault rifles with less range and less accuracy. My thought was that they would be murder up close and suppressive at range. Right now they are neither. |

I agree that the damage nerf was certainly justified, but the substantial increase in heat build-up often makes killing jumping and strafing or otherwise evading enemies (which is typical behaviour) rather difficult. While one could argue that I should pay more attention to the heat gauge, my focus needs to be on actually aiming the gun. If the HMG does overheat, it's as bad as having to reload the thing during a firefight, you either switch to your sidearm or die. The whole point of having a HMG is to be able to lay down an extended barrage of fire.
Evidence that the HMG was over-nerfed can be found in the number of Heavy dropsuit users switching from HMGs to Assault Rifles. |

I agree, it's strange for Heavies to be switching from HMG's to rifles to put a dent in enemy forces. The developers need to take another look at the HMG. |

Heavies tear me a good one almost always. Combination of shields and armor with their HMGs makes me avoid them for the most part. |

As far as I've heard, the skills that pertain to the weapon and getting the higher level ones helps with the heat build-up issue. It seems the main concern was making sure that the militia version of it wasn't mowing down everything in sight like it used to. |

There was another tread on this a bit back with this particular alt of mine. The nerf is ridiculous and is contrary to the idea of having and HMG (HEAVY MACHINE GUN aka like a .50 cal compared to a .223/.308 of the AR)
Don't mind the heat issue due to its ROF, but to nerf the damage also is just F*CKED.
Had to switch from my original role of street sweeper for my corp to the LRRP I have always been. |
