So I made a saboteur fit; scout suit, 2 sprint speed modules (5% ones), sidesrm, AV grenades and remote explosives.
I fit this aiming to be fast and mobile getting to tanks and blowing them up.
The only problem is that the biggest tank Ive seen so far, along with the militia one, are way too fast. Even at sprinting 8.4-ish m/s, the tanks outrun me.
This wouldnt be a problem if the remote explosives would stick to the tank, because by the time I toss the RE and attempt to trigger it, the tank is already way, way ahead of me.
I end up using REs to boobytrap the terminals instead, and lobbing Av nade after nade trying to blow up the tanks (cause the grenades I can prime.)
Trying to hope atank will drive over an RE Ive placed on the road is very unlikely.
Request:
Either slow down the tanks, or let REs stick to the tank. |

Hi agree with you. Remote Explosive should stick to all surfaces and vehicles.
P.S. Maybe you can re-name the thread into: [Request] Sticky explosives. It would attract CCP attention more. |

You are not supposed to RUN after the tanks, but instead lay traps. Most tanks seem to be driving around a lot, (immobile tank = dead tank) and often start doing a pattern. Recognize that, and plan for it :P
Trust me, there are few things more surprising than being suddenly dead. |

AV grenades are going to be upgraded to home in on vehicles. Sticky RE is a bad idea since you essentially are asking for an I win button for sprinting up to a tank. |

and thats exactly why tanks need infantry cover, promoting teamwork

Explosive would stick to vehicles but won't home-in on them like the magnet gharge in Mission Impossible 3. |

All my experience in BF3 showed was that sticky REs make stupid tactics successful. MAYBE if it took time and they didn't just latch on or a special version that did significantly less damage would we be in the ballpark of balanced. |

I could live with a sticky, but less damage RE. Then you can hero run into a tank low on hp, pinning your infantry down and ensure the kill. |

Another option is to work out where the tank is heading and cut it off on the way. Be there waiting, rush out as it's moving towards you, toss the RE into the path of the tank, and by the time you detonate, the tank will have REACHED the blast radius instead of escaped it. |

sticky RE needs to be in. currently RE are useless against any tank that is not militia.
1. throwing RE has a slight delay, throwing 5 RE takes ages, the tank will be long gone before you manage to lay down all RE 2. they bounce of the ground like bowling balls 3. they have a delay before you can blow them up 4. wont even break the shields of a properly fit sagaris tank 5. also useless to blow up buildings, will only break the shields 6. RE are visible for everyone and die in a single hit, if you lay down a carpet against a tank then he will see the RE and blow them up
they have only 1 purpose currently: troll players that follow you around corners into a trap which is situational at best. |
