i was going to start a thread but this is as good a place as any. to the people i think i pissed off last night, sorry for smashing you over and over. i didn't intend to smash that many people with a drop ship, but once i started it was just too fun. i tink some people got really mad last night. roadkill all over the place. |

This crap is annoying when the enemy does it. This crap is more annoying when your own team does it.
It kills you in one hit (yet another way to die in one single hit), and when your own team does it they swoop down all of a sudden and steal your kill, plus they block you off from shooting at the enemy if the somehow miss.
What easily annoys me most about this is when teammates swoop down to steal your kill and block you. It's like all the ammo I fired was pointless and all I did was waste my time. I really don't care when the enemy does it to me because it rarely happens.
CCP - put something in place to stop people from doing this. Maybe make it so being hit with dropships just pushes you out of the way like when you get hit with a friendly vehicle.
Edited: please stay constructive. |

All players in a drop ship that hits the ground should take personal damage- akin to lumbar load exceedances which are accounted for in dynamic seat design that is used in aerospace industry. |

I know this can be annoying.
It just seems that in most of the matches I've been playing the people playing pancake in there drop ship draw alot of attention and therefore a lot of fire and dont seem to be up for long because of that.
Some people have been doing pancake landings but there easy targets for heavies tanks, and people flying dropships the way there meant to be used.
My experience so far has been an immobile, slow or low flying dropship is a dead dropship. |

Everytime I see a dropship, I go straight for the nearest Supply Depot or Respawn to get a lovely swarm launcher. I've been crushed only once or twice since I've started playing.
But on the crushing side of things, I've done my fair share of crushes as well. A couple ton vehicle dropping on your skull will not only hurt, but it will more than likely kill you. I've mostly done the crushing if I see a teammate having a bit of an issue fighting off some people, I swoop in and crush the opposition, since I have no gunners. One I do have gunners, I am always airborne unless I need to repair some armor.
Crushing I see is fine in the current state, since you still can get damage to your shields and armor if you drop like a rock, though a gentle squash is good fun. I'd honestly love to hear some bones crunching if someone were to be crushed. |

No single person can be completely defensible against a Gunnlogi (or any other non-milita tank). No wonder why in EVERY GAME I PLAY NOW I see upgraded tanks trying to kill players. Since I don't like it could you just remove it from the game? kthxbye |

Also the MCC should cause huge collision damage to any Drop Ship that touches it. I would think its shields would damage anything touching it. IF it still has a shield to protect it. I, for one, would like to try a suicide gank on that MCC with my Rift--err I mean... my dropship.
Since it's possible to get infantry on top of it, has anyone tried going to town up there with remote explosives or swarm launchers? |

the damage we can do, if any, is negligible compared to the null cannons and really not worth the effort. |

I have to admit, I didn't really understand all the posts about this....until yesterday. Then I got squished in each of 3 consecutive matches.
So, now I have to watch for giant metal turds of death. Not sure it needs a change. -It seems to take way more skill and effort than say, parking atop a tower and showering the ground below with your small missile launcher (for the entire match). -and it does put them at jeopardy. They incur damage from collision, too? I'm OK with it.
Did they fix the LAV impact mechanics yet? I think I care about that more. |

EDIT - It's disappointing to see such resistance to this idea. I guess the days of first person shooter requiring people to have gun game and shoot in first person as opposed to smash in third person are gone. I understand heavy vehicles killing people. I still, and will always think it takes a true scrub to prefer this method of gameplay that delivers instant death from an aeronautic armor protected vehicle opposed to using any of the dozens of other weapons in this game. These are probably the same players that swarm launcher whored, spawn camp, use the forge gun from the tops of buildings with nanohives, and have no points in AR, Pistol or SMG and still don't have a 2 to 1 kdr and never come in 1st place. Maybe I'm wrong, but one thing is certain - I miss the days where online gaming wasn't so noob friendly and gun game and talent were mandatory for success.
They dont need to stop it all they need to do is increase the damage taken to the ship if it hits the ground |

Atm im currenlty on the side of against simply because instakilling people on a spawn point teebagging them with uour dropship is kinda stupid but it should do damage based on speed and should not 1 shot a heavy in strong gear(i can take a tank shot but not a bump on the head?)

Keep it as it is but increase situational awareness of dropships.. They are too quiet right now, and they don't seem to show up on the mini map either.. |

just get cover, if a dropship can smash you, then a dropship or anyone else can shoot you. plain and simple, to remove the ability to smash someone who's not taking cover, as you are being shot at.
Some would seem they could complain about things during war. " the Bombs are too loud, and it burns my eyes when i look at em, can you turn the explosions down a bit, i'm trying to watch the simpsons " |

Problem with dropships crushing players: It's unbalanced in terms of risk/reward. You don't take damage from splattering an armoured target larger than almost any projectile available to players.
Commonly-recommended solution: Make it impossible to crush players.
Better solution: Make it more dangerous.
Impact with a dropsuit should deal damage - obviously not a lot, it's still similar to running a person over with a tank in terms of relative durability, but make it enough to be noticed if you're looking for it.
More importantly, though, crashing into the GROUND should be more severely penalised. If you land too heavily, it should ignore shields and deal damage directly to your armour. It's not like the planet is going to be slowed down by your shield, is it? |
