thread from the last build on this but in General discussions - so brought it here, as feedback.

please can we get this fixed. R2 is atrocious. It either cycles pass the weapon/ equipment you want or pulls the wheel up or just is unresponsive.
One thought outside of speed of cycle etc. if you want to implement the wheel why not use L3 to bring up the wheel when not driving a vehicle? This would remove the annoying habit of accidentally pulling the wheel up when you try and pull out a pistol in the middle of a firefight. |

R2 is horrible, most of the time it doesn't even register if you're reloading, making the idea of swapping to a sidearm instead of reloading a moot point. I would just like to point out though that L3 is run, so that really wouldn't work. |

You you can just tap R2 and it will auto cycle to the next weapon. I have no problems with R2 =) |

I understand some people are having little to no problems, but a good amount of people are. It might be as simple as adjusting how long the button needs to be held for it to register for different functions. |

I don't think MAG had to deal with as many activated pieces of equipment did it? |

Primary gun, sidearm, medkit, grenade, and launcher. Was actually more, I think. Depending on fitting.
EDIT: Just saw the other post, forgot there were separate buttons for equipment and weapons. Still swapped faster though, and much more reliably. |

Is L2 even used in DUST? - real question. If not CCP should adopt the same system, L2 for equipment switching, R2 for weapons. Too many times do I pull out a Nanohive during a gunfight because the current system simply doesn't work. |

L2 is throw grenade.
MAG R2 was cycle primary/secondary/grenade launcher.
R2 is super unreliable
The wheel is far too clunky, this includes squad leader commands. (but that is a whole other huge can of worms)

R2 is and has been clunky / inconsistent with every build.
I thought it might be associated to the latency in the previous build. However, since most of that has been cleaned up and R2 is still very unreliable, I would definitely like to see this addressed. |

In MAG, you have to select the grenade and press R1 to deploy it. In Dust, it's instant deploy.
MAG has better controls IMO for selecting inventory. Very responsive for fast pace executing moves. Dust is slow in responsiveness when switching from primary weapon to second.
Tap tap R2, and you get a Grenade on MAG. Tap R2, you get Grenade Launcher. From Grenade launcher to Primary weapon, tap tap tap R2. It was fast, the opposing team gets disoriented from the blast of smoke of the grenade launcher, and you execute it for a finisher of your primary weapon. |

This is actually a simple fix - instead of having separate buttons for weapons and equipment like everyone seems to want, make quick switching with R2 only switch between weapons and not equipment while holding it would make the wheel come up as it currently does.
Also, if you absolutely must have a separate button for equipment the left dpad button is not in use. |

To be honest, I'd prever having the right trigger for shooting, the left one for aiming. I still find myself hitting the triggers (L2/R2) over the shoulder buttons (L1/L2), cause I'm used to shoot with triggers. I've noticed it's swapped for move controllers, why not for gamepads as well? |

<-- d-pad for equipment would solve alll my problems
or just have the option to be able to customize my buttons :)
it just seems like using a spring loaded button to have the wheel come up and also select my side arm is a little annoying and dont get me started on tthe LAV HAV steering and gas on the same damn stick |

I never use the cycle, I hold R2 and use the right analog stick. So fast and so easy to switch to what you want without going through other things.
The system works great. You should learn it. It is very fast and easy and reliable. |

L2 is currently for grenades.
There is nothing assigned to the left directional button, so why not assign a cycling for equipment to the left directional button and keep the weapon switching to the R2. The question comes to the activation of equipment for the vehicles. The fact that we can not cycle through the activate-able modules of a vehicle and are relegated to the wheel has gotten me and my vehicle killed in a number of situations. |

They should just make the Traingle button to switch to the secondary weapon as we are all so used to that button to change to a side arm. |

No, no we aren't all used to that. I can't remember the last game I played where triangle was to cycle weapons. |
