I have a 120GB Slim PS3.. I've only gotten into a game once so far since starting to try last night.
All day today, when I try to get into the game, it goes to a screen with the loading icon in the center above some "planet" and it just sits there. Nothing happens. I've waited for as long as 20 minutes, and nothing happens. It doesn't seem to be downloading anything, it's just sitting and spinning.
I paid 20 bucks for this, I guess. I know it's a beta, and I'm not complaining.. but I can't beta test your game if it just plain refuses to load.
Help! |

Actually, I happen to be a systems administrator, so networking is something I'm familiar with.
That being said, my PS3 is on my router's DMZ. It is open to any and all traffic from the internet. I play numerous other games online on a constant basis using 2 different PS3's, 2 different PC's, 2 different android devices, and I never have any trouble with those games. My router is located literally 2 feet from where my PS3 is, on the strongest possible Wireless signal. Hard-wiring it makes no difference whatsoever. Quitting and reloading the game does not help either.
It seems very hit-or-miss. Sometimes I get right into the char selection screen, a lot of times it just sits and spins. I've only managed to get into two games last weekend; the first one, after I died twice, it wouldn't let me respawn. So I quit and joined another game, and played that out for the duration.. but since then, I have been unable to connect.
I have not yet tried to get back on the game since they "threw the switch" for this weekend's play. That's on my agenda for this weekend though. I'll update you all when I have a chance to take a shot. Right now, I'm pretty firmly believing this is a coding/networking issue on the end of the developer, especially when considering the number of concurrent reports from other players. |

I'm in the United States, in Michigan, on a Comcast connection that gets 25MB/s downstream. |

I'm sorry, but I fail to follow what a traceroute will resolve. I don't have a routing issue with my connection; if I had connection issues then I would see those evident in all the other things I do online. A traceroute solves nothing. Thanks anyway. |
