When firing any Large Hybrid Turret, the readout indicates the blast area has a damage radius of 5 meters.
There is NO blast radius whatsoever. I tested several times, I hit the dirt at the feet of an enemy player, and the result was the same, no damage at all just a large puff-cloud of dirt. 5 (ingame) inches over would have killed the player however as his feet were at that location on the ground. Only very direct hits work as expected, and even then there is no blast radius from a hit target. |

Do you mean the railgun (I think both it and the blaster are hybrids, the blaster has no splash damage)? It has splash damage, the problem is they don't do the listed amount of splash damage to infantry, it seems far less. |

It's the one you mount on the main slot of a Tank. It states directly on it 5 m radius, that's be about 10 meters diameter. it simply doesn't do anything. There is no blast.
The Small Hybrids have a listed "blast diameter" of .02 meters. Which is what the Large Hybrid also seems to have. Quite possibly someone just didn't change the value when they upgraded it from Small to Large.
Even if it did say... 1/8 the damage listed in the radius. It'd still take a visible notch out of the target's armor bar. It does not. |

Well, there is no "hybrid turret" item that you can equip is what I'm saying. Both the blaster and railgun are under the category of hybrid turrets, and it depends on which one of those you mean. I personally use a railgun on mine, and that one most definitely does have splash damage, though it's much weaker than what it says the splash damage is when used against infantry (I'm pretty sure this says it has 5m radius). I'm also pretty sure the blasters don't have splash damage, but I'm not sure what their description says, and I can't check because I just turned my PS3 off for the night because I have a wicked stomach ache.
Is it a rapid fire machine gun kinda turret? That's the blaster. (these kinda suck for HAVs in this build, because of their inaccuracy and no splash damage)
Or, does it charge up and fire one shot every few secs? That one's the railgun. It does have splash damage, though it is kinda iffy and not always precisely accurate. Very small bumps in terrain seem to be able to screw with splash damage, but I get splash hits a lot with mine. |

Ah, I must have remembered the details wrong... I'll get back to finding out what the proper title of the equipment is tomorrow. (too tired right now haha XP )
Anyway the specifics I can state are this.
Its the Large version of the Rail Gun, and it requires the Large Hybrid Turret skill...
In the store its the.. uh.. first of the Large Railgun listed. |
