I think this thread broke itself. Got a 404 error when I posted.
I've only ever had this happen once so far, but yesterday I activated a repair module, and it refused to heal me. It worked fine other times in the same exact fitting, just this once, it activated in that the cooldown began and the icon was at the bottom right, however the repair visual effect wasn't happening, nor was my vehicle getting healed. I wasn't taking fire at the time, I had just run away after killing the guys shooting me and was sitting there going "ok, you can start healing any time now." It had worked with that same vehicle both before and after that instance as well, there was just something about that single activation.
No idea what I had done differently to help figure out the cause. |

i have trouble getting the damn things going. i have to basically spam R2+up thumb stick to CONSTANTLY select it. eventually it will work, but only after about 10 to 15 tries |

Spamming it seems to be the wrong way to activate them. It always activates fine for me if I take my time, not like a 30 second process or anything, but not just mashing buttons quickly either. |

That's the exact wrong way to activate them. Infact, by doing that you run the risk of turning the module OFF as soon as you select it to turn on. The proper way to activate a module is as follows:
Hold R2 Point the right directional stick up/down/left/right wherever the module is Let go of R2 while holding the right directional stick against the module
Where most people faulter is they try to do it quickly, they point the the stick up towards the module, then let it go slightly before letting go off R2, thus voiding the action. As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect, start off very slowly and work your way up, I can easily pull it off now with a 99% success rate after a bit of practice. |

The way it seems to work is to select the repper so that it's full green and hold until the repair kicks in. |
