I'll keep it short and sweet.
First off, I think the Scout + SMG combo seems a bit over powered pre-patch, and to my surprise the SMG's hip fire spread got tightened up. We all thought that with better hit detection and frame rate lag problem fixed that the Scouts will be brought down to earth, apparently that's not the case (hit detection turns to bleh with lag). Scouts are still really tough to hit in close proximity gun fights, seems they have smaller/narrower hit boxes, they are the fastest runners, they get almost all their shield back after you reload, their SMG does more damage than your assault rifle, fires faster than your breach, has more bullets, and tighter spread at hip fire. Don't tell me they sort of have comparable range to ARs too because that's just going to be awesome. [/sarcasm]
Secondly, what's up with AR hip fire? And before anyone says, 'oh you need to ADS' or 'you must always keep your range'. 1. good luck ADS-ing while shooting someone at close range, especially a scout who is bunny hopping merrily around you. 2. Try as you might, you will eventually turn a corner of a crate/container and find yourself in close proximity combat. You'd see AR users empty magazines at each other esp. Scouts and barely hit anything. Really? Reticle was right on you, is this lag? hit detection? or hip fire has crazy eyes.
Seems like everything is going for the scout suit smg/+ar. I just think it deserves a looking into, if you guys think it's fine as is, then pardon my salty salty tears. |

While I mostly agree with you, your first thought about any problem you find in the game should be "It's still an early beta, it will be fixed it we make the issue known".

Ummm, Scouts are pretty damn weak right now compared to the other suits, at least when you try to compare them outside their own specialties. Scouts are small and fast, but cannot pack nearly the punch that an assault suit can pack... Let alone a heavy suit. Scouts can use AR, but I suspect when CCP gets closer to launching you will see that scouts get a bonus to SMG / Sniper and Assaults will get a bonus to AR / Shotgun. When that happens, you will see people naturally migrate away from scouts till only the scout style players use them seriously.

The SMG does far less damage and has a much short effective range. At level 5 skills the SMG just barely beats the basic AR without skills for range and DPS.

yes they are a pain, yes they are quick, but they are verry weak and drop fast if you can get a few hits on target.
But try them and see how they are situational |

at first I thought it was really good as well, but then I switched to the assault and started getting way more kills, and I weas already doing 2/1 KDR, so I think it is ok, I tend to eat scouts with my breach AR. so in light of both being ready ready good I think they are balanced. |
