Yep, I'm in. My biggest complaint about Valkyrie was that it was a VR game. With Warzone they are removing the VR requirement. So I can play it on traditional 2D flat screen PS4.
Curiously, after deciding that it was OK after all, I've since traded in a number of old consoles on a brand new PS4 Pro and believe it or not, a PSVR setup. So I will have the choice of VR or non-VR. My feeling reading the comments on the Valkyrie forums is that non-VR players will be at a significant disadvantage. The ability to look around will be mapped to the right stick for them, but VR players will simply look around them, and that will make their gameplay much easier. I don't tend to look around (with a stick) much in such games, so that's a new skill for me, and with the ability to do so just by turning my head, I imagine it will be quite beneficial.
I've been getting into the lore of Valkyrie, too - I think that side of things will be more acceptable to many Dusters as it downplays the whole racial/faction thing. In Valkyrie, everyone fundamentally comes from the Guristas, a pirate corp in EvE. They mainly use Caldari/Gallente ships and weapons with a smattering of other races/factions, and the Valkyrie are a split-off from the Guristas. Interestingly, the rest of the Guristas are named by the Valkyrie "Schism" as if it were they rather than the Valkyrie that split....

There are also a few of us over there. Russel Moralles is there as is Mobius Wyvern. There are a few more whose names don't stick in my mind (they're generally NOT the names we have here). My name over there is Nalianna which is the name of my EvE main. I may have to change it to Europa99 which is my PSN ID, because of the way the accounts work, apparently.... |

Yes, it would have been good to have that flightsuit. Apparently because I bought the game already (I have a PSVR setup now, believe it or not) I can only dl the new stuff on payment of a small fee. This should have been free to all who already own the game and I will not be paying extra for it.
I don't know why it's not in the PS Store in Asia. It's a worldwide game so there should be no reason it's not there. Will it even be there after Warzone launches? You might have to quiz CCP and/or PSN on that. |
