Skill tree, chat, and a tad bit market wise there is EVE Online but it is not a FPS.

Dust 514 was a hidden gem in the PS Store, you cannot believe how lucky it turned out for me to be randomly searching for a free to play game one summer evening.
Unfortunately, as there is a first time for everything, there are also one-offs, things that happen only once in life...and that's finding the best game ever.
**** I keep saying Dust 514 was the best game ever...WHO AGREES?? I do

Totally agree...yes I miss MAG that much.
Wonder why such good games didn't get the attention (and sequels) they deserve.

The avg person doesnt want to take the time to understand a game they just want to point and click, when its not super EZ like cod and bf they give up..thats why pve is a must |

Besides BF2142 maybe Planetside 2, Dreadnought reminds me of Warbarges. Dust 514 was unique. There isn't a game like it. |

The only one I've seen so far is planetside 2 but its not a very satisfying game. Battles have no begining or end and the worst part is the chat system. Dust had the best chat and squad finder system bar none. Some of my former corp members swear by black light retribution but in the sense that you can level up your character but its more like any other fps with a small squad against another small squad.
One of the things that made dust special which sorely lack in all other fps is the game economy. It cost absolutely nothing to respanw in all other fps. So you can do all sorts of stupid stuff as long as you get the kill. Because in Dust your equipment had an associated cost you had to rely more on strategy. Being great at fps didnt mean you could win the battle because a more cohesive group could maintain a letter or clone you out due to having better teamwork. There were carious-ways to win at dust other than having a fast twitch finger.
Oh, Star wars battle front 1 had great potential but it Suuuuuckked because you cant create a squad. You can play with a friend on the same team in challenge mode meaning against npc. You can NOT play with your friends on the same team in regular pvp battles. How stupid is that? Hopefully they fixed this on #2. This made me so mad that I uninstalled it and haven't played it for 7 month now. Had they had thos most basoc of features I would had recomended it |

Raven had a rise? I thought SVER won everything.
I didn't mind tho, whored myself out to everyone... Raven had the best side arms, great for a sniper that liked to run balls deep into the objectives (didn't see many of that tho, mostly find 'em camping the red zone... Even more similarities with Dust, lol.) |

I just so happen to google...."games like dust 514" and this thread popped up. Dust was a bit unique. And I to this day havent seen it replicated in the mechanics that drew me in. I saw someone mention planetside 2 and i'd have to say if work through the 'kinks' (which there are plenty) i find its the closest you can get to a battle back in dust. In fact id almost say one of the continents (Amerish) is a close contender for similar location from the colors to the "canyon esque" mountains and ridges. Like dust its not really a solo game. Dont get me wrong you certainly can, its more profitable and more fun with squad or corp-mates with you. Three factions, Minor weapon "sidegrades" from each faction, Major visual changes between factions, Varied faction vehicles, =P Lore friendly faction.....ra....competitiveness. Hopefully someone brings the dust formula to ps4. would be lovely. |

Only a little bit actually. Best killfeed is......Large Railgun Installaton (Roadkill) SumRedGuy. But mainly Breach Forge. Cuz might as well carry the railgun with me =). TFW Counter snipe that guy over yonder.

I love the minmatar scout with shotgun combo, full speed boosts (forgot the name  ) and shields.
