The thing I miss most about Dust after being forced to play games that aren't dust for over a year now, is the competitive nature of Dust. It seemed as if every player in the game, or at the very least, all the ones I ever bothered to mingle with, would strive to be the best player they possibly could. The community as a whole treated every match as a lesson, when the match was over we all sat down and figured out what we could've done better, I remember spending hours upon hours conversing with players about hard counters to this and that, the best way to hold each type of socket, and so on. And over time we grew, as a community, together we all got better, and it was fun to do it.
I've been playing TF2 a lot lately (along with several other games but mostly TF2) and the one thing that really bothers me about the game is so few people take it seriously, no one cares that they're garbage at the game and they have virtually no intentions of ever getting better at it, they refuse to learn the game mechanics and the best ways to handle each situation and in turn it's quite a cancer to the community, you can literally just walk through any server mowing down the entire enemy team excluding the 1 enemy who actually bothered to Git Gud. And well...I'm tired of being that one enemy, I'm tired of carrying teams because no one else gives a damn about a W. It's quite sad that the players spend so many hours of their life not bothering to be good at something they've played for a thousand hours.
That's really all I have to say on the subject. I guess the topic is, what do you miss most about Dust....
Oh and I miss the **** out of my Madrugar GK.0 and my tank gunner Taco.
Love you Taco, I'll see you on Nova eventually, although we won't ever get our tank back....

Trying to get better to kill the guy kicking me in the face.
I really get pissed off when we get redline stomped.
I try so hard to get that uplink past tanks and av's.
And then they minor ob it to my dismay.
Frustrating as hell.
But the best times I ever had.
Oh the redline, I've been stuck in it and I've been the bastard camping it (95% of the time I was the bastard camping it though) I remember all of the mad dashes to get a stable proto uplink out on the field, sometimes it was the fuel injector LAV, sometimes a super tanked Incubus, sometimes a cloaky scout and occasionally I'd just spawn a triple hardener Mardrugar and speed boost my way through the redberries. There really was nothing quite like that feeling of getting a solid uplink on the field and seeing the whole team spawn in on it, such accomplishment.
As far as trying to get better to kill the guy kicking my face in, I used to hunt Arirana down in every faction match I could find him in and specifically 1v1 him every chance I got. I remember times where we would be the only two people in a whole city socket, we'd both have nova knives and ARRs with our character models glitched out and we'd just duke it out in a blaze of hipfire and broken hitboxes. Took me many moons, but I got to where we went 1 to 1 every time I ever crossed him. There's nothing quite like teabagging Ari's corpse as it disintegrates into dust.........God dammit I miss dust, **** YOU CCP,

Funny thing is with CCP making Nova for the more mainstream players out there, there likely will be these very same non-caring too-casual players in Nova as well. That's really everything I don't want it to be.There's already thousands of titles for the lazy average gamer, we don't need them ruining what we had going on in Dust.
