These characters were formed through the PSN ID's we played with, since we won't have anything to do with PlayStation in the next game, I honestly have no Idea how CCP would be able to carry over our names/characters, unless they somehow manage to do it through the email accounts. Either way... I won't be using this character as my main in Nova, I got a new one cookin', I'll keep this one for sentimental purposes (if they carry it over) The PSN IDs were only the means by which we were identified in the PSN. The actual accounts and the three characters on each of them were and still are on the Tranquility database server. There is an email address attached to each account. Yes, that's most likely the way they identify us. |

Funny you should mention that. I've been wondering if Nova characters will be part of the Tranquility namespace. Are Valkyrie characters part of the Tranquility namespace? From what I understand, no one in EVE can take my name. And i think that names are one of the few things being transferred from Dust to Nova. That was my understanding also. Been wondering if the same thing will be true for newcomers to Nova. The developers have confirmed that even though our statistics aren't on the server, our names cannot be chosen by anyone else. The way a database would work to prevent access to names that already exist is to have a record of those names on an appropriate account on the database. Hence, we have an account on Tranquillity with each of the up to three characters that were on that account also on the server. Depending on whether the name of each character is on a separate character record, or simply listed on the account record, there may be other information as well, but good database design suggests that the name would be listed on a character record, so that primary and foreign keys can be used to prevent using those names elsewhere. |

If this isn't the case I'm going to be very upset when my name gets stolen on day 1. No, you don't understand. No one else but the creator of that account has access to that name. The problem will be identifying that account's creator. |

The problem will be identifying that account's creator. I have reactivated my EVE account before by asking CCP to reactivate the EVE account attached to a specific email address and reset my password. If you contact them using the email address the account is setup on, then there should be no issue. I imagine it will be the same in Nova. You contact Nova customer service using the email account associated with your Dust character account and ask for your Dust account to be reactivated in Nova. You will get a Nova account with new characters with the names you used in Dust. Yes I believe your email address will be all you need. It has to be something stored on CCP's servers, nothing to do with PSN. |

That's passed to CCP who then allow access to the forum to the CCP account associated with that PSN ID. With Nova, this would have to be via direct access to CCP, not via PSN. The email address on the CCP account would be the logical way to identify us. |
