At that point we might as well go full Valkyrie and have no fitting at all =ƒÿÉ
You know you can have fitting without the pg/cpu mechanics right?
I just explained this in the other thread that there are other ways of achieving the same result.
Option 1: If i give you a box full of stuff and say you can pick any 5 things from the box, its easy right? pick what you want.
Option 2: If i tell you pick any 5 things you want, but they must fit inside the box, then it is different. the 5 items you pick may not fit in the box together and you're forced to figure out on your own what items will fit in the box together.
CCP what to move away from option 2, that's all. pg/cpu constraints were an unnecessary complication.
Instead having player pick any combination of modules they wanted, and then finding out they couldn't use it on a dropsuit because of pg/cpu limitations, we could say "here's your dropsuit, and you can select any of these modules available for use on that particular dropsuit.
Now when ccp needs to balance something, they can simply go to the offending dropsuit and adjust dropsuit stats instead adjust pg/cpu of modules. We all saw what happened when fitting cost got adjusted. some modules that should be available on certain fits, no longer could use them because the fitting cost of the module increased by 1pg. if you used two or three of that module before and it fit, you now were over your pg by 2 or 3 pg. So ccp then buffs the suit by 2 or 3 pg to compensate, but now the extra pg is letting people fit and additional 70 hp on a scout suit. Thats unintentional side effect.
So what now? ccp has to go and adjust the cpu/pg on HP mods, which will break a fitting for something else. it's a total mess trying to balance it all, and that's why cpu/pg needs to go.

How else am i going to look cool spending 3 million SP on Fitting Optimization V so I can fit an advanced breach flaylock, rather than just a basic one ?
why do we need advanced and basic variants? we could easily just have one variant, that can be modified with attachments.
You could choose lots weaker attachments like sights or grips, or choose a couple more powerful things that might increase damage, clip size, or rate of fire.
The more you skill up, the more attachments you can fit.
Just ideas, but they illiterate the possibilities. |
