and one of those was risk aversion, and mechanics that punish normal fps behavior too much in the beginning

In regards to the PG/CPU being bundled up into a single power unit and using the upgrade model of progression (augmentation) rather than the oldschool remove & replace model (dump old smartphone for new smartphone), this sounds very similar to the topic of Power Cores we have previously discussed a long time ago before Dust 514 was shut down.

SWEET! You can builds onto weapons as well as dropsuits. That was requested during DUST but I honestly didn't think I'd see it in Nova. I wonder how much customization can be done to a weapon. 
As for the tier system, Rattati says he is not copying EVE system but sounds close to me.
As for an insurance system within a FPS, IDK about that. There is insurance in EVE but there are transport and other ships used for not just shooting. In Nova though, everyone will be shooting so I don't really see the point of insurance. Oh well. I have faith Rattati has a well thought out plan. Who knows? Maybe there will be more to Nova than just shooting. (I wouldn't bet on it though.)

But the talk of snipers got me thinking back to MAG though T___T I miss wandering into the objectives and counter sniping the campers. |

I previously missed the comment about corp battles. I wonder how Nova will handle corp battles this time around.
Speaking of Corp Battles, I still do not know why CCP did not keep the old Corp Battle system along with Planetary Conquest. The old Corp Battle system could have easily been used as a stepping stone for corps building up to Planetary Conquest. Furthermore, the old Corp Battle system still could have used throughout the life of DUST (even after Planetary Conquest was proven to be a failed concept). Oh well. I am sure CCP has a better idea for Corp Battles this time around; or at least I hope.

I think one of the requirements for CPM was to act as a "gateway" for communications between the playerbase and devs whilst remaining silent for months about knowledge of a project being developed which would ultimately end with the majority of the playerbase being f*cked over :L
Just as being a dev requires you to make numerous posts about how well the new update is going then going back and deleting them afterwards when project Nova is announced :)

This is exactly why they shouldn't. YOU know that those things are exaggerated, but there are people who are unfamiliar with the issue.
