I don't follow Gunjack or Valkyrie but why has ccp put so much time into those two games that look so similar? Watched some of the VR game play and they look like the same damn thing. Can't understand why they would make two games that are so similar and not have put as much effort into the boots on the ground part. |

As someone who has played both Gunjack and Valkyrie, I can tell you that they are not even remotely close to the same game.
One is a simple PvE stationary arcade shooter, the other is a team based pvp dogfighting simulator. Just because they both take place in a cockpit doesn't mean they're similar gameplay.

Ok just asking. Look like the same **** to me. I haven't played either. Don't plan to. So the "only" difference is shooting other players and you have teams vs shooting AI? |

Is that what I said?
In Gunjack you're in a fix position in an emplaced turret and you're just shooting little ships that fly up...I mean it's an incredibly simplistic arcade game.
Valkyrie is a much more involved dogfighter with different types of game modes, classes of ships, weapons, maps. It's a completely different kind of experience.

yes. just as the only difference between Pong, golf, and a handjob from a $10 lady of the minute down on the corner of peachtree an 5th is how balls are slapped around. I agree completely.

Isn't Valkyrie basicly commanding EvE fighters launched from carriers? |

Some modes are yeah. But the most recent game mode takes place around a minmatar installation on the surface of a planet, so it can vary a lot.

I like the boots on the ground part, and yeah patience we mus have. They have been hiring all kinds of positions for nova specifically. Meaning they are putting in the exact same kind of effort they are putting into their VR games if not more effort because its taking longer and a bigger team then most have expected to complete.
You are all going to be in for a very pleasant surprise.

So most Dust maps were in a bowl. Kinda like a pit. And it was full of cocks.
So Dust was basically in a cockpit too. I guess Dust and Gunjack and Valkyrie are all basically the same thing.

Gunjack was designed to work on that platform, then ported onto the other VR platforms.

From my understanding, CCP focused heavily on VR to be a leading developer in the new game type of VR. Unfortunately for CCP though, VR is not hugely popular. As for the VR titles asked about, I've heard Gunjack is a rail type shooter where you affect gun movement but not the overall movement of the ship while Valkyrie you fully control the ship. And to answer you final question, CCP's VR titles are short term for quick one time boosts in revenue while Project Nova looks to be long term to generate revenue for years similar to EVE. Now if you were in charge, which one would you spend more time on to make sure it is the best it can be at release? Of course, CCP Shanghai did have some time taken away from Project Nova as they had to work on the Gunjack titles but that should no longer be a problem due to Nova being moved to Iceland.
