I am all for off world Public Matches, on ships, in ships, on asteroids in zero G, etc. I am perfectly happy with CCP focusing on this for game launch, as it will help to differentiate Nova from other FPS titles, and give it a very New Eden feel.
However, I really like the idea of Scavenger Grounds, like they were working on in Legion. I suppose they could make Scavenger Grounds maps in abandoned space stations and dead ships, but I would like to see land based maps introduced eventually as well.
For Planetary Conquest, when it is added to the game, I think we need planetary surface maps. I like the mechanic of Districts earning the Corp money through player action. Either through taxing Corp members as they scavenge in the District, or through a passive extraction method which is impacted (slowed or even stopped) through the actions of Rogue Drones if Corp members do not regularly thin out the Rogue Drone population in the District. Maybe both.
I would also like to see a use for vehicles in Planetary Conquest or scavenging on a planet: - Limited carrying capacity, so you use vehicles when scavenging to carry the stuff you salvage. Then there is a role for vehicles to disable those vehicles so people can stop your truck and steal your stuff. - Destructible infrastructure. Base shields, shield generators, base power plants, gates, and locked doors that are easier to take out with a Tank, but can also be taken out with AV weapons. - Defensive Turrets that can be taken out by a Tank or with AV weapons. - Defensive base walls with controlled access gates would also make dropships useful.
I see Planetary Conquest to be an Expansion after launch, so they can focus on the core game for launch, and then start work on an expansion with PC and vehicles.

How about a ship map where the attacking team tries to get to the Pod and kill the Pod Pilot who is controlling the ship, while the defending team tries to kill the attacking team's limited clone supply. To avoid it being too much of a bottleneck the Attacking team could also win by taking engineering, activating the auto destruct, and holding the defenders off while the auto district goes through its 5 minute countdown. Meanwhile, the defending team can make eliminating the attacker's clone supply easier by taking the CRU in the boarding vehicle, thus preventing the attackers from respawning and holding it until all the Attackers are dead. (Virus takes 2 minutes to take control of the CRU.)
Basically you have the Attackers defending their boarding vehicle, the Defenders defending the ship's pilot's Pod, and both teams trying to get to and control Engineering.
Game duration is governed by the Attacking team's clone count. The defending team should have a clone count 5 times higher, so it is possible to clone the Defenders, but it is not very likely.
Oh, and the Pod Pilot is an NPC! No need for EVE players to loose their minds.

So instead of maps that will never be 'connected' to eve I would rather see the one's that can be connected, and so on I would like te see battles over jumpgates, eve missions infrastructures, sleepers infrastructure, POCO, citadels hangars etc.. Nova should not be held back by limitations that probably won't be relevant because that level of EVE interaction is exceptionally unlikely. Without that interaction or at least hope of that iteracion in future, Nova will be just another normal fps with some mmo elements out there. Why would any ordinary pc-fps player chose it over game('s) that are already there, and have solid fundation for another couple of years to come? What Nova will have that others games do not have? A fight on the outside of a battleship is a good way to give the look and feel of EVE while the game gets off the ground, and later when there is more EVE integration, it will still be a cool PUB match map.
EVE integration, when/if it comes on the level of battle interactions, will be in Planetary Conquest, Faction Warfare, and other end game content. But there will always be room for flashy looking battle environments in PUB matches.

Asteroids would be cool, especially if they spun. This suggestion makes me wonder if the weapons are going to actually work differently depending on the environment. It would be kind of a stretch though as EVE does not really have that. Still, the possibility is there at this point. Plasma Cannons and Mass Drivers would shoot straight in zero gravity environments.

Here is the rough order in which I think they should tackle Nova/EVE interaction:
1) Integrated Corporations and Alliances. 2) Integrated chat channels. 3) Shared Corporate interface, with Nova Directors and EVE Directors having the same Corp UI controls. 4a) Currency market. Allow people to sell EVE ISK for Nova cash and visa versa. 4b) Integrated open market. (Even if an EVE player can't use Nova stuff, let them speculate on the Nova market.) 5) Integrated inventory. Allow transfer and trading of stuff between EVE and Nova players. Shared Corp inventory. 6) Introduction of items into the games that have a value in the other game. 7) Add production bonuses to Planetary Interaction when extracting from a district your Corp owns. Maybe tax implications. 8) Clear benefit in EVE for a Corp to own Districts. Clear benefit in Nova to owning the districts in Corp held Sov space. 9) Planetary Bombardment. 10) Make holding the planets in a system a big part of the sovereignty mechanic, so you can have space sovereignty or planetary sovereignty, but to get the full benefit you need to control both.
This is only a rough order, but basically, start with the integration which only rely on a shared database or simple transfer of text, and then work up to the more complex physically interactive integration later. Work up to the point where EVE players have a reason to care about Planetary Conquest in Nova before you introduce Planetary Bombardment.
