I was just thinking of a few funny character names I could use, I managed to think of a couple, but I'll reveal them when the time comes...
This of course implies we'll have to start anew and these current characters will be no more, and that we'll have the option of multiple character slots like in Dust.

That's a pretty big claim... They have said they won't delete the Dust names and won't allow others to use them in Eve Online. The only reason to do this is if they will soon be relevant again. Otherwise they would have wiped our names when they wiped our stats. Hey, even if they keep our names and give us the same 3-slot character screen we had in Dust, with characters from our original PSN account, what stops me from deleting the other two chars I have and making new ones with great names?
Troll to the max I say!
About the name-keeping, if they do that, they absolutely MUST give us some sort of benefits over newly-created characters, otherwise I'm just gonna use my other account...

Though I'm sure the names I'm thinking of aren't taken, they're pretty unique.

Totally just speculation since that's all CCP has left us with, that's just how I feel it's going to go. It sounds like much of the innovation is going to come in map locations and skybox effects. I liked Dust's level of complexity, well, practically EVERYTHING about Dust, it was just so well-made, and if they don't make the new game similar to Dust, it will never be as good.

This time, they want to go with a more down to Earth lobby shooter that will net a reliable economic return by appealing to mainstream fps players. That's good and all but most mainstream FPS players hop to the next title in 6 months to a year. I would hope CCP would not want to spend 3-4 years developing a game just for that group as no matter how good it would be, those players are always looking for the next game to play. Of course, this is looking from either a F2P or subscription standpoint. If CCP does the $60 initial buy-in like other FPSs, I still doubt they'll make back their money due to the CoD and BF fanboys just waiting for their serie's next title. That's exactly why they need to make it long and hard, like Dust was with it's large, costly skill tree, to keep those players tied to the game.
