This is what bothers me about the whole thing - I feel like IF they were to drop anything on us as a "surprise", it would ONLY be because we're still here, still waiting, that they wouldn't even bother if we weren't. In other words, from my perspective, the only reason there is any thrust into Nova at all is because of us. What would happen if we just decided en masse to go away and wait. Would there EVER be a Nova?..... |

Eff EL wrote:BigStuarty wrote: The main reason for the pulling of DUST514 was the technical restrictions tying into EVE... From what I understand, not entirely true. One of the biggest limiting factors for the development of DUST 514 was the PS3 itself. This, I believe, is one of the bigger reasons for shitcanning DUST. However, this is something they should have thought about before making promises as empty as the space they made for them. Yes, it has to have been the PS3. Bad choice to go with a time-limited platform in the first place, when they could have just stuck with PC. My feeling was that it was then and always a futile attempt to reach a different, kidsier market. In that it succeeded, but the phasing out of support for the PS3 was always gonna shut it down one way or another. |

I'm a bit concerned about Project Nova now. I can't remember if it was present in last year's fanfest schedule but not having it here.. Let's hope they'll make it a "surprise" ! It wasn't on the official schedule, but they did mention it in the keynote, and had the demo. I can't imagine they wouldn't say anything at all, but it probably won't be much, and it will probably be in the keynote. It may not be more than the standard "We are still working on Project Nova. Now let us tell you about the new VR game we are making..." Yes, this is the point. VR is clearly everything now. They would only be working on Nova because we're still here. |
