Last I heard on the subject, the tech side of things is set, and there seems to be little in the way of preventing cross play other than Microsoft and Sony. I don't know which one, perhaps both, is holding up the process, but so far there has been no agreement.
I think it is about time that consoles have cross play enabled, and where applicable, with PC, like Rocket League already has.

I can see that.
Sony happens to be winning this particular console generation, and maybe they think that by preventing cross play, they can coerce players to buy a PS4 since presumably more of their friends will have that one.
I just wish that they would get their stuff together and let us play.

Rocket League is a big game that has cross play between PC/PS4, and PC/XBOXOne, but for some reason they are reluctant to finally let the cross play go between consoles.
Ark would be another game I would like to see go cross play, despite the obvious menu and hotkey options, I don't think there would be that much of an advantage.
