In regards to PS4 and Xbox One (in general, not in relation to a CCP game or any specific game in particular)?
I've finally joined the rest of the civilized world in the current console generation with a PS4. My good friend has always been an Xbox man. I'm catching a lot of sh*t right now (as expected).
Has there been any new developments in terms of cross platform play? I found an expectedly vague article from March16 about the topic. Not much help.
All my friend wants is for me to play CoD with him. I know, I know. Like Drew Brees says in the Campbells Chunky Soup Everyman Allstars Fantasy League commercial, "I don't want to talk about it".

Yeah the article mentioned Rocket League, and it seemed to suggest Sony was dragging it's feet. |

Yea, I think for the most part people are brand loyal. I'll never switch to Xbox, my buddy will never switch to PS. It's even more ridiculous when you consider both systems cross platform with PCs from time to time.
Maybe if a big enough triple A game comes along to coerce Sony and Microsoft to work together.....

It a pricing issue. I picked up a PS4 for 300 bucks. What would I be looking at for a low low end bottom of the barrel gaming PC? 500 or so? |

I don't have a 4k tv (got the regular PS4). Trust me, I would rather have a computer. I never had a console as a kid, but we got a computer when I was like 12 or something.
I'm pretty particular about which games I play, so I never end up playing a large amount of different games, and honestly if I got a computer I wouldn't want to just get a decent computer, I'd want at least the top end of "good", just a touch under great. Consoles still have enough space between generations that it just seems to be a far cheaper option over time. The thought of better PC hardware coming out a year or two after building a PC is a bit unsettling. Hell, I bought my PS3 in 2011 if I remember correctly. |
