if they show actual gameplay then we might have a shot to have our belovedv game come back to life.
if they show nothing I would be really worried.
hopng for the best.
They had a playable demo last year. I think it'd be pretty telling if they came without even that this year.

It being free will be its saving grace most likely, unless it ends up being a lot bigger than the relatively CQC lobby shooter we're currently slated to get. Uh, in what way does Nova being PC-only put it on less stable footing than Star Citizen? Chris Roberts has repeatedly said SC is going nowhere near consoles regardless of how much they might improve over the next few years. The fanbase is all hardcore PC gamers as well.
I REALLY don't think Star Citizen is going to be competing with dedicated first-person-shooters. Keep in mind that Star Marine has been described even by the devs as a little more arcadey right now than they want it to be when they're done.
Also, they've confirmed that you can die from lack of food, dehydration, and cold in the Persistent Universe. Star Citizen isn't a first-person-shooter as much as it is a first-person-simulation. When they're finished it's going to be a lot more like Arma than Battlefield or Dust.
I happen to like Arma and simulation games in general, so I see that as a plus. I also see it as Project Nova and Star Citizen being two completely different games that aren't necessarily in competition with each other.
I've always been kind of confused when it comes to this obsession with some of the Star Citizen fanbase and talking about how it's going to be the primary competitor of every game coming out in the next 2 years when the guy who freaking made it says he doesn't consider himself competing with anyone and just wants there to be as many space focused games as possible.

I think Dennie is the only one. This doesn't necessarily concern me overly much. We don't know how many aren't going simply because they have no interest in Project Nova, how many aren't going because they aren't willing to drop the cash on travel, etc. Bingo. I would be going this year but there's no way I can get 2000 USD by that point.

It's probably reasonable that there will be SOMETHING at Fanfest, but it will likely be fairly humble in nature. And again, they had a playable demo last year. Expecting the same this year doesn't seem unreasonable.
