Also, in all my time in DUST and of all the Spanish speaking people I encountered, I don't recall every running into anyone actually playing from Mexico. Strange that.

That's pretty optimistic. This is obviously a troll, but it's still not hard at all to find people who support this kind of things, and I'm not talking about USA, but the entire world. There's always someone else to blame in each country, since blaming someone else for our failures is much easier that blaming ourselves. That' why mexicans are the "real" problem of USA, central africans are the "real" problem for Italy, italians are the "real" problem for swiss, poles are the "real" problem for England.
I still remember a philosophy lecture when I was in high school, where our lecturer put us in front of this philosophical exercise: more than 2000 years ago, the cradle of modern civilization used to have a very "unique" way to give away the roman citizenship: it was not just based on ius loci or ius sanguinis. At a certain point, in fact, everyone living in the roman empire was roman (Goths, Celts, Franks, Germans, Egyptians etc.). If we keep both the ius sanguinis and the ius loci, considering that european countries colonized/controlled/invaded the entire world at a certain point in history, we can easily assume that every single person in this world has at least one common citizenship.

I would argue that since the term "Mexican" is often used as a derogatory term for anyone of Hispanic descent, regardless of nationality, and in that sense it could be considered racist, given the context of the original comment.
I once saw my Colombian mother told to "Go back to Mexico where she came from" despite the fact that she had never even visited...
That would be like someone telling me to go back to England or Australia just because I speak English.
