This is old news and lots of us have been discussing this over on discord.
Original words by PokeyDravon:
1. New owner doesn't really care and let's existing projects do their thing. No change to plan. 2. The new company doesn't see an FPS as being part of their vision and reduces/removes funding for production 3. Company is very interested in an FPS and puts more funding into it. 2/3 of those possibilities are positives. Which is most likely is entirely dependent on what company is courting them, which there is zero information on, so it's impossible to spwculate. I wouldn't even worry about it at this stage. Corporate sales are not always the negative that people seem to think they are. On the plus side, in terms of transparency, you can't get much worse than CCP so any change there will be a positive XD
Now this is just me shooting shi*
Who ever is offering a buyout must be a very big company to throw around numbers of about a billion dollars.
Google Microsoft EA Sony Samsung Paradox
Are all possibilities since they have asked to remain hidden, not much light has been exposed.
But what came out recently and when did this offer arrise?
GUNJACK 2 and that is ONLY on GOOGLE DAYDREAM.
Very possible google has taken a serious interest in ccp hf.

Obviously, I could be wrong, but I don't honestly think any companies of that magnitude are interested in a second string, Iceland based MMO that's been losing profitability for years. And more broadly, I don't think they're interested in the company that owns that MMO and hasn't really been able to make any other product stick in the market. CCP has been dwindling for three years now. The buyers are more likely to be some Korean MMO front house or simply a holding firm or something.
LOL they are evaluated at 995 million and you think they are doing bad?
I dont call 995 million second string. Youtube sold for 1.65 billion which is not far off.
Whether they show it or not ccp is doing very very well.
An exclusive game already with google and you KNOW that means huge bucks in the bank.

Google dont fuc* around boy, they are in the business of making huge amounts of money. They are definitely second string. Yes, they're doing bad. Also, CCP thinks it's worth $995 million. Let's see what the number is when they eventually sell. Take a look here: http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquilityThe FTP spike looks to have mostly worn off as well.
Those graphs look very successful to me, I dont really know any other games with 60,000 + players on at once.
I am pretty sure those are just eve numbers as well nothing to do with the gunjack 1 or 2 release on google daydream, which is where really big money comes in.
So you think ccp did an evaluation on themselves? I am pretty sure due dilligence companies are hired to do that sort of thing so buyers and seller dont have to.
Your right if it did sell it might not be 995 mil it could be a heck of a lot more!
Hate how you call ccp second string.
Do you also call google second string?
How about EA?
I think you are second string.
ccp is deep into VR and that is currently where huge money is not EVE or fps.
The future of gaming as we know it is VR.

Where you trolls are pulling your numbers from is beyond me.
You mine as well make them up, just like all your other fake ass statements.
You obviously dont even know how to read a stats chart, there is more then one server duhhh!
VR is actually bigger then you can imagine and you can expect it grow even bigger in the next 5 years.
Makes a lot of sense why you see big companies like sony starting to develop their own VR stuff.
Try checking actual sales vs players online with eve and their VR stuff. Until then just zip that hole.
Are you ccp? NO! Do you work for them? NO! Are you their accountant? NO! But you sure act like it.
When things like dust become not profitable they shut down. Well that is not the case for their VR stuff, very much profitable by a very big margin otherwise it would of been trashed months ago!
But go ahead and play with your server numbers thinking you know it all.
Lets all go back and play the playstation 1 nahh bru stuff dont work like that its moving forward and the next gaming platform being widely spread even by google / Sony ? EA / Microsoft is VR.
Well CCP had the jump on all of them and you think they are doing bad? Second string?
So bad that they got a buyout offer?
LOL!

Not sure what that link is suppose to mean.
I am just saying, this buyout came from their VR stuff.
You guys are showing me eve stats like how does that even make sense? Buyouts are future related, not buying for the past.
Anyways, you will see soon enough VR is the new playstation and xbox.
CCP had the jump on them all, naturally their tech would want to be snatched up by other competitors coming into the niche.
Anyways i dont wanna argue.
I dont think CCP would sell they have to much on the go and too much to lose that they worked very hard for.
Really dont like people calling them second string.
When you get a buyout offer you are not classified as second string.

Ccp did not put themselves up for sale get that straight.
They received a buyout offer. Big difference. Yes that usually always happens to first string companies they get buyout offers, just like youtube did.
Am i talking about 2015??? lmao kid.
This is from present maybe a few months old. Solid 2016 numbers and future progression.
Buyouts dont happen for things in the past its all about the present and the future.
Anyways you keep digging up old numbers and live in the past while the rest of us look for the future.
Do you know how many games EA has thats hardly a comparison, ccp made 70 mil off of what 3 games?
EA probably had dozens upon dozens of games to reach those numbers tard.
If ccp had that amount of games they would blow EA clean out of the water.
But you fail to see two sides, the only side you see is ccp is second string.
In reality they just focus on their games more then other companies making for games that dont get played out in a month like EA's garbage.
You really need a serious lesson kid.
ccp is first string, pure skill and development.
EA is second string, pure crap copy and paste year and year again.
I dont blame ccp for not following those steps i actually praise them for it!

Yes you win as i said in my last reply.
I dont mess around with kids and kool aid. Waste of time.
You still fail to see the second side of things.
You are a one track mind, sad.
Quality is worth more then quantity any day, maybe when you grow up a little you will learn that the hard way.
More people like you and nova would probably turn into a variation of COD. Sad Stuff.

I find it funny how some people still claim to know how well ccp is doing even thought they made their financials private from the public.

Since any interested buyers were no longer able to see how ccp was doing they had to outright make a offer / take interest in buying to see how they were doing. Really makes you wonder how well they are doing with their VR stuff. We already know that they aren't yet even breaking even on their VR stuff. No need to wonder. I wonder why you keep bringing it up like CCP is somehow knocking it out of the park with VR. They aren't.
Show me their VR numbers then.
I dont mean eve, i dont mean mixed into 3 years ago financials.
Show me the current. You simply can not so shut that trap.

Here it is again: Read it this timeStraight from CCP itself. I won't ask you to shut your trap. This is far too entertaining.
LOL you throw the same article at me wtf? I read it from start to finish you obviously did not.
Predictions, predictions.
Where are the hard numbers?
You wont find them.
Obviously they are investing 30 mil into VR for a damn good reason.
Its going to be their main source of profit these next few years just as i explained.
The future that you can not SEE!
